Update: It looks like my review was removed so I'm putting it back w/ an update. My hair is still ruined and it's cost 1000s to try and fix the damage. The owner never offered to re bleach my hair. They did offer a cut to fix it the unevenness. While they were cutting my hair they basically didn't believe me and kept trying to convince me what happened didn't happen. This issue was never resolved. I'm STILL dealing with the bad bleach job 8 months later.
Original Review: I lost 145 lbs, and to celebrate, I wanted to go blonde. instead, I walked out of the salon looking like a joke. $249.66 poorer. words can't fully describe the despair I felt leaving that salon. They didn't listen to my requests. Instead, they told me what I should want. When I said no and reiterated what I actually wanted, the stylist, Gary, eventually agreed but proceeded to do what we wanted anyway.
Here's what happened:
Neglect: I was left alone with bleach in my hair for 1.5 hours, and Gary didn't check the foils one time during that time.
Unapproved haircut: I asked for a 2-inch trim, but he cut off 5 inches without asking. I was trying to grow my hair out, and now it's gone.
Uneven haircut: My hair is uneven or unflown.
Uneven color: My hair has blotches of platinum, yellow, and my natural color where he didn't bleach at all.
Ignored requests: He ignored everything I asked for. He was juggling three clients at one, leaving each of us alone for 30+ minutes. it's why he left with yellow or uneven hair and he forced me to full price.
My first consultation: consulted with three different salons after my visit to Mirage. Every stylist was baffled by Gary's work. They explained that my professional should be able to lift virgin hair evenly, but he didn't.
Forced payment & pressured was forced to pay $249.66 for a disaster. Gary was incredibly mean and pressured me to pay.
Dishonest: When I said I'm not to have to pay, I've never encountered such unprofessional and unkind behavior in a salon. The relationship between a stylist and client is sacred. We trust you to do our hair and it's a heinous crime to be hair. He didn't care at all. I was so saddened by his behavior and my hair. I cried all night after leaving.
Owner's response:When I reached out to the owner she gave me a free hair cut. The bleach job was not fixed.
I ended up spending $500 at another salon to try and fix the damage. I can't even bring myself to share photos-it's too humiliating. I look like a Polly Pocket doll from the '90s :(
All I wanted was a refund, but they denied me multiple times. People, don't go there. They violated my trust, and they'll probably...

Read moreWe had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with the stylist Gary. He did not listen to what we requested instead insisted on doing what he wanted.
Our request was for a dark caramel balayage and ended up with dirty blonde, unevenly done horrible looking highlights.
We clearly asked for no bleach, yet he went ahead and bleached the hair, left it like that over an hour. When mentioned that the scalp was burning while he washed it out, he ignored it.
Post wash, the results were extremely uneven and blotchy. There were random patches of red, blonde, platinum, and gold.
He also pressured us to leave a good review immediately to show to his owner and was even hovering over until we submitted something, which was very uncomfortable and inappropriate.
The end result was so bad that we had to go to another stylist and spend more money to repair the damage. Not only was this a waste of time and money, but it was also a distressing experience.
When we mentioned that the color looks odd, he also went ahead and tried gaslighting us into believing that the blonde hair was actually caramel.
Garyâs conduct was unprofessional, he was extremely forceful, and we would not recommend...
