I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kanishka Restaurant in Washington, and I must say, it was an absolute delight from start to finish. This culinary gem exceeded all my expectations and left me with an unforgettable dining experience.
From the moment I walked through the doors, I was captivated by the elegant and inviting ambiance. The warm and friendly staff greeted me with genuine smiles, ensuring that I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout my visit.
The menu at Kanishka offers a remarkable fusion of flavors, incorporating traditional Indian cuisine with modern twists. Each dish I tried was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with complex flavors that danced on my palate. From the fragrant and perfectly spiced curries to the tender tandoori delicacies, every bite was a revelation.
One standout dish that truly impressed me was the Butter Chicken. It was a divine creation, with succulent pieces of chicken cooked in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce. The balance of flavors was impeccable, and I couldn't resist savoring every last spoonful.
Moreover, the extensive vegetarian options at Kanishka are truly remarkable. The chefs have ingeniously crafted a range of delectable plant-based dishes that rival their non-vegetarian counterparts. I particularly enjoyed the Paneer Tikka, which featured delicately marinated cottage cheese cooked to perfection in a traditional clay oven.
The attentive and knowledgeable staff at Kanishka further enhanced my dining experience. They were well-versed in the menu, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that every detail was taken care of. The service was prompt, yet never rushed, allowing me to savor each dish at my own pace.
Furthermore, the restaurant's attention to detail was evident in its elegant decor and comfortable seating arrangements. The intimate lighting and well-spaced tables created a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends and family.
To top it all off, Kanishka's commitment to using high-quality, fresh ingredients was apparent in every bite. The flavors were vibrant, and the dishes were expertly prepared with utmost care and precision. It's clear that the chefs at Kanishka take immense pride in their craft, and their passion shines through in every dish.
Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Kanishka Restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience in Washington. Whether you are a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, this establishment is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be transported on a culinary journey that will leave you...
Read moreI wish I can give 0 for the service. I went to the restaurant and placed a pick up order for a tandoor dish at 10.50am this morning and was told 30mins of wait time. This staff at the pick up desk did not know how to place orders via tablet, did not understand the orders ppl were making, was upfront rude and customers had to repeat their order almost 3-4 times for him to get it right in the system. When asked a question like “Can I place a portion of rice on the side”, he would stare at the tablet, wouldn’t respond and just walk back to the kitchen without saying anything. During the wait, the staff named “Hari Om” at the pick up counter was VERY VERY RUDE to the customers, checking on their pick up orders, Grubhub/DD drivers walking in. He said something rude to a GH driver and when I told him, that this wasn’t the appropriate way of talking to ppl he responded saying “I’m talking to him and not to you” with so much of attitude. Right after which, at 11.45am I asked him if my order was ready and if he can check with the folks inside, he said “I don’t know it’s a tandoor dish it takes time to cook, I can process you a refund if you don’t want to wait”. After patiently waiting for almost an hour, he has the audacity to tell me that he can cancel my order and process a refund, when all I asked him was an ETA?? I knew this was my saturation point, and went directly to the restaurant entrance and asked for the manager(ofc, they told me that the manager was on holiday) but their front desk team said they can help, I told them that this was unacceptable behavior & definitely not customer friendly. They told me that “this staff” does not usually work at the pick up section and it was only today that he was there. Within ~4mins of complaining my order was ready and handed to me.
Request to the Management: Folks like us coming to your restaurant, come in only for the delicious food you serve but this is not in the expense of your staff disrespecting and talking their mind out with little to no regret. I have had similar experiences during dine-in for thaali when the staff says “what can I do, the ppl in the kitchen don’t give the food on time and I can’t do anything about it”. This shows the poor customer service and ownership. Pls do not hire ppl who are not interested in this sector of business, and if you DO then make sure you take ownership on getting them trained on how to deal with operations and customers. Honestly, from here on I would think twice to come in person and place an order or dine-in for...
Read moreOver the past 8 years, I have been a regular customer, frequently traveling to Seattle to visit my father and often ordering carry-out or dining in at Kanishka in Redmond. Generally, I have been satisfied with the food and service. However, my most recent experience on June 2, 2024 was quite disappointing and has prompted me to reconsider returning in the future. During our visit, the service was notably subpar. Upon arrival, our server did not greet us properly. He hurriedly took our order without making eye contact, appearing distracted and looking around the room. This lack of attentiveness was the first indication of the poor service we received that evening. We chose to overlook this and hoped to enjoy our meal once it arrived. However, when our food did arrive, getting the server's attention for additional requests became a significant challenge. Despite our attempts to signal him, he was rushing around and did not check in on us. When we finally managed to get his attention, he seemed visibly annoyed. We asked for two sparkling waters and two teaspoons for our chutney. His confused reaction was concerning, but he assured us he would bring the items. After waiting for approximately 15 minutes, neither the drinks nor the spoons had arrived. Upon calling him over again, he seemed irritated and informed us that they did not have any teaspoons, handing us two large tablespoons instead. This lack of effort to accommodate our reasonable request for teaspoons to enjoy our chutney was very disappointing. Throughout our meal, it was evident that the server did not prioritize customer service, significantly detracting from our dining experience. Moreover, while the food was generally okay, some dishes were excessively salty. Given the server's apparent indifference, we did not bother mentioning this issue. The overall experience was far below the standard we have come to expect from Kanishka. Due to this disappointing experience, we are considering trying another restaurant during our next visit to Seattle. I hope the restaurant will take this feedback seriously and work to improve the quality of service and attentiveness of their staff to prevent similar issues for...
