Podshare San Francisco Marina — Hotel in San Francisco

Avoid at all cost! I had never experienced "customer service" quite like this one... My wife had a blanket over the wooden frame of the top bunk she had, in search of some privacy as the beds in the hostel have none. We didn't think it was a big thing to ask for, but the guy that works there disagreed. He just requested for it to be taken down immediately as it was against hostel policy. Said policy is nowhere to be found on their website or any of the platforms Podshare is listed on. We tried to reason with the guy and have a grownup conversation, but he would just walk away. He was wearing massive headphones the whole time we were there. Extremely unprofessional and quite frankly childish behaviour. We left the hostel for some food and when we got back we were refused entry at the door and we were told to get our stuff and leave. That same little soul had the audacity to go throw our luggage and "pack it" without our consent and bring it to the entrance. We received a partial refund although we were promissed a full refund for the remainder of our stay.

I've travelled the Americas and South East Asia for over 18 months and have visited a very large number of hostels. This was by far the worst service I have ever received! I am still in disbelief...

It was a pleasant stay & had no problems with the amenities provided. My belongings were safe even though it’s a shared space. I didn’t use a locker. However, if you need it, they can provide you with a locker but you have to pay to borrow a lock for a small fee. The back patio was nice to hang out at and they allowed us to store our luggage after checking out which I appreciate! The bathrooms are communal but they were clean. The beds were spacious and comfortable. I slept really well!

I was disappointed by how I was treated after checking out & coming back the next day to ask if I could use the wifi briefly to order a lyft because none of the wifis i was connected to were working after trying to order one for 30 minutes with failing wifi. I was outside with my luggage trying to catch my flight. Yet, I was told “Sorry the wifi is for customers only” & left me to continue to struggle. and when i mentioned that i had stayed the days prior, i was told “well you checked out so”… this truly ruined my trip & experience here. I certainly will not come back because of the unkindness I experienced. However, I will still give 4 stars because the amenities, bed and shower were nice. Hopefully others will be...

I stayed at Podshare during 4th of July weekend and I had a pleasant experience!

The hostel itself is spacious- there's plenty of communal spaces and everything was clean. I got a top bunk bed and it was cozy. The bed was a little bit too soft for my liking but it was great nonetheless. Staff were really nice and everyone I met here was nice too. My space felt private and there's lockers you can use to store your valuables.

The location is magnificent- the hostel is close to the Palace of Fine Arts and the Golden Gate Bridge. Public transport was super close by and you could get around the city pretty easily. I didn't have a car during my stay but from my observation, parking could be a little tricky.
