One of the worst Indian restaurants in the Bay Area. I'd stay far far away from this place. Their food is decent but their service is, by far, some of the most horrible I've ever experienced in any restaurant. I came here with my parents for lunch expecting authentic food from Goa. When we entered, it was 235pm and there lunch closes at 3pm. Even though we were there before they closed, they said that they would not be cooking any food from their menu aside from what was available on the buffet. Since we'd been busy packing for a move the whole day, we said that was fine since we were quite hungry, even though there wasn't even a hint of anything from Goa in the buffet. It was the usual generic tandoori chicken and dal type entrees you would find at any Indian restaurant. We had just sat down with our first course after ordering three chais when the server came over to notify us that we would need to take any food that we wanted now as they would be wrapping up the buffet too! I asked him kindly that we had just sat down with the first course and if they could keep it open for just a few minutes longer since the food would cool if we brought it to our table. He flatly refused saying that they closed at 3pm and they needed to be wrapped up with service by then! At this point, begrudgingly, we went to go pick up our second course while the food we had just started eating was sitting at our table. I went to go pick up some fish and I realized that there was none left. The manager was behind the bar so I told him if he could please refill it. He said that there would be no further refills. I looked at my watch and saw it was still only 255pm so technically they were still open! I pointed it out that they should do refills at least until their open listed time, otherwise I'm paying full price for only half the meal. He also flatly refused. I was upset now since I'd brought my parents here with some pretty high expectations so I turned around and was walking back to my table and muttered "what the f*" under my breath in exasperation. The manager SCREAMED at me to "mind my language". I'm not quite sure where he found the audacity to say that. At this point, my mother was quite worried and she came over to tell the manager to calm down and that he had no right to speak to a customer in such a tone. The manager then ordered us to leave the restaurant, literally pushing me in the process. We had to leave in such a hurry due to the hostile atmosphere that my dad forgot his cholesterol medication there. Overall, an absolutely horrible experiences with mediocre food that no way justifies bearing the terrible service. Sincerely hope you avoid this place at all cost, especially in an area with so many...
Read moreI was craving Indian food and went for Viva Goa based on distance from my house. Fantastic decision. I decided on getting the Samosas, the Garlic Naan, and the Chicken Tikka Masala, and everything was absolutely on the money! If I had to do it again I would do the Tikka Masala & Garlic Naan only, and drop the Samosas just because it was a big portion to put down for one person. That being said, the Samosas were tasty and if I wasn't weird about finishing my food I would still get them ten times out of ten, especially with the sweet dipping sauce. The Tikka Masala & Garlic Naan combo was really delicious. I haven't had a Garlic Naan like that yet in the city yet. It was absolutely delightful as it was a little thicker and chewier than other ones that I've had in the past, and for my taste that was preferred. Also, I don't know why I saw people complaining on here about the service? The gentleman at the front who checked me out was a true friend of the people in my opinion. I would have a hard time hearing a word otherwise. All in all, If you live in the Marina/Cow Hollow area I would strongly encourage a visit to Viva Goa. I will be going back again, and again, and again, and...

If you are ordering food from this restaurant, you have to be prepared to wait beyond the designated time that delivery app provide to you. The delivery driver, whoever enter the door To pick up costumer’s order, they treat them like they are not allowed to Enter inside restaurant. And if you enter, they use a different tone that shows some discrimination to the delivery person. They tell us to wait outside, which is OK, but once the order is ready, they should bring that order outside And hand the order to the driver since the driver are not allowed inside. The employee who work there have no manners To talk I wonder how he have served the customer. Almost every table was empty, except one table and he addressed The restaurant is super busy. They just wanted to be a quick with the service, but can’t providing a service. If the drivers are not allowed to enter inside, why is the restaurant missing pick up window at...
