We had to come into San Francisco for a last-minute medical procedure and I was relieved to have been able to find a room only 3 days before I needed to be in town. Especially one with an affordable King room available (my husband is 6’10” and doesn’t do well in a Queen). PROS: • The room was clean. No mysterious stains on the floor or the bedding. Lifted up the mattress and there weren’t any signs of bedbugs. The entire hotel is non-smoking so there wasn’t that lingering smell on anything. • The bathroom was roomy and clean. The shower was very roomy, also. • As far as motels go, the bed and pillows were quite comfortable. Whoever makes the beds though is a pro at that tight bedspread tuck as it took both of us to yank the comforter out from between the mattresses. • It was quiet. If anyone was blaring a TV in a room around us, we couldn’t hear it. • There are two LARGE dresser drawers and a roomy closet space with hangers. CONS: • Due to the large gap under the room’s door, the traffic can be heard almost like you’re standing right on the street. If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs. • There’s no security latch on the door. • The parking lot is small, not a lot of wiggle room, and the spaces are VERY narrow. There was one space available between two sedans, and one of them had rudely parked over the line in their space. Between the guy parked over the line, the narrow spaces and lack of backup room in the lot, it required me getting out the car to help navigate and folding in the mirrors to get into the space. • Check in was a little awkward. The clerk was having a bad night and wasn’t afraid to show it (I once worked at the front desk of a hotel and the frustrations of managing a desk weren’t foreign to me, so I wasn’t particularly offended). Don’t get me wrong, she wasn’t rude, just ever so slightly unpleasant and distracted with whatever issue was going on. I think we all appreciate that chipper “WELCOME!” when we’re checking in somewhere and her distractions made her a bit “discombobulated” during the check-in process. I’m sure she’s a lovely lady, just having a rough night. CONSIDERATIONS/SUGGESTIONS: • The Standard room doesn’t come with a fridge. However, a little hack, for whatever reason, the bathroom was INCREDIBLY cold. We stored our extra water bottles in there and it actually did an amazing job at keeping them cool. • I wish the room had come with a TV guide. Additionally, as far as we could figure, the TV didn’t have closed captioning available. We’re both a bit hard of hearing and would have appreciated the ability to have subtitles. • The Continental Breakfast: This one is a bit underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s always a nice consideration when motels offer breakfasts. Your options are concentrated apple and orange juice (the orange was actually out during out stay), apples, white and wheat Wonderbread (with a toaster and some butter), coffee, and two varieties of cereal. • They actually have room service, which I thought was interesting for a motel. It’s a large menu with all types of items. The prices are a bit expensive, but it was a nice surprise to have that option. The menu will be on the desk in the room. We did not take advantage of room service, so I can’t say anything about the food’s quality. • There’s pretentious hipster coffee shop a short walk up the street and a small Walgreens right across from the motel. Also a few restaurant options we didn’t look into, but they’re there. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a place to lay your head at night, this isn’t a bad place at all. It’s not the Ritz, but we didn’t expect it to be. If you’re a high-maintenance person who could find anything to complain about, I wouldn’t bother. For us, it was just what we needed. I would consider staying here again if I just needed a room in San Francisco; however, I would also recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to passive aggressively torture a treacherous...

If you're like me and looking for an affordable stay near the attractions of San Francisco with free parking. I would avoid this place like the plague. We decided to stay one extra night in San Francisco and were staying down the street already, so we decided to give this place a try since we couldn't find any rooms under $200 for one night, last minute on a weekend and it was a huge mistake to stay here.
I'm not the type who enjoys writing bad reviews but this place really sucked. The lobby is beautiful, but the actual motel rooms gives you vibes of a rundown motel that was cheaply renovated in a hurry and it looks really bad. They make it look much nicer in the photos than it actually is and the lobby is nicer than the rooms!
From the moment I TRIED to check in was a bad experience. We got to the motel at 5pm, 2 hours after the time you're supposed to check and waited about an hour for someone to even show up to let us into our rooms. At any other chain hotel this would've been unacceptable and immediately warranted a free room or points for a future stay because that is ridiculous. The man at the front desk had very good customer service and was extremely polite so I can't fault him. But still, that doesn't excuse the fact that he kept myself and many other guests waiting in the lobby for so long. With limited time out here, you're supposed to be out enjoying your vacation, not wasting time sitting in the hotel lobby.
The moment you enter your room, you are greeted by a thick aroma of bleach and stagnant air. There are 2 tiny windows openings in the room, one in the main room that hardly cracks and the other in the bathroom against another building so it hardly has any air flow. I like the fact that it was probably cleaned throughly, but I don't want to wait 3 hours in my room for a chemical stench to dissipate.
The walls are so thin you can hear each passing car on the street and even ferries from the ocean. I could even hear the people in the rooms next to us having a conversation that wasn't even loud. I ended up turning on the TV and the non functioning AC to create enough white noise to fall asleep.
The deposit alone is $150. I've been to 4-star hotels across the state like the Westin that dont even charge so much deposit, especially for a shoddy, lousy room like this. I could go on about the bed being lumpy, there being black mold throughout the bathroom (especially on the window), the toilet being set in the corner where it's hard to sit, the ac blowing warm air all night despite being set to cool and 68°, and the cheap fixtures that make you feel like you're staying at a $40 motel 6 but this would be a lot longer than it already is.
If you want a cheap place to sleep with a warm shower and free parking but you can't afford anywhere else, I would still think long and hard about staying here. I know I would never return here on my future vacations, or recommend this place to anyone, I'd truthfully rather sleep in my car and buy a hot shower at a truck stop. Not worth the money even at a bargain, stay at the Signature Inn down the street or even better, the Star Motel. Prices are comparable and the experience was...
Read morePlease avoid this hotel at any cost because they are not trustful. If you have booked already then try to cancel it, unless you want them to steal your money. I will surely tell you my experience so you will be informed and don't experience the same thing as I did which was so bad. It give me trauma.||||I was in San Fracisco already and looked for a nice hotel. Casey (a guy that works there at reception) gave me a good deal per night, USD 60 including tax. Anyway upon my check in he made a huge mistake by taking out twice the amount I had to pay. Beside he took also another huge amount that I didn't know about it. He took my card and I don't know what he did but he could place transactions without my permission. Luckily I get notifications right away, so I asked him about it. He said that is deposit but it should be not taken from my account. He also said because they made some renovation during COVID, the system is also changed and is not working properly. To amends his mistake he came up wih a proposal which was to give me extra discount, USD 40 per night including tax. I sure accepted this. All this happened behind his boss back.||||He charged me by "mistake" USD 700,-. Casey tried to redo this but I still needed to wait 8 days because of the rules of the bank I use. To make sure I will get my money back I satyed longer than I really wanted in San Francisco. So after a fews days I extended my stay. Even without my present and nor authorisation he could take out money from my account. This was so scary so I asked him how this is even possible but I didn't get answer and he tried again to cancel the transaction.... but yeah for this new transaction I had to wait again 8 days. Anyway almost beng there two weeks in cold San Francisco I decided just to leave and believe I will get back my money. Luckily a day before I received 2 out of 4 transactions back. During my check out Casey did not say anything. Once I was in Flixbus to Los Angeles I got again notifications... He took money from my account without my permission and authorisation USD 410,- and USD 300,-. He knew I was heading to Los Angeles. I blokcked my card immediately. I don't know how he was able to take money from my account, without permission. I've never experienced anything like this. When I reached out to his boss he didn't take me serious and supported his lies. They basically stole money from me. I have reported and hopelly will get back everything. I wanted share my experience so you wouldn't...
