We arrived at the hotel around 14:00. Three times the assistant kept trying to make us take a room on second floor - which considering the hotel is on a main road was noisy and we said this was not good for us. We were made to wait 1.5 hrs for our room. I said this was ok as long as the room we eventually got was quiet. We repeated this as a requirement for health reasons. I know some people dont mind noise at all, but others suffer terribly from it, which we do. We were then given a room on the 3rd floor next to the elevator -- which clanks when it moves and chimes like a tug’s foghorn everytime one of the doors open. Furthermore the room was facing a large construction with a lot of noise from machinery! Terrible noise! If there is construction taking place at or near the hotel, shouldn’t hotel staff inform guests about this possible inconvenience? As I said, not everyone minds the noise, but some suffer terribly from it. I went down to the reception to ask if another room was available. Another clerk was about to help me when the first one who gave us this room jumped in and insisted there were no other rooms available — and the perplexed look on her colleague’s face indicated this was not quite true. A manager came out and looked on their system. She could not give concrete information when they worked on the construction site but generally from 7:00 to 17:00 hrs, including weekends. I said we will then need to find another hotel. Upon hearing this she finally said they had another room on 6th floor but it was not a double bed. Although the room was facing a main road it was better than the construction site. The aircon in this room makes a terrible sound (listen to attached video and tell me if one can rest with it going on), the bedsheets and pillows smelt dirty and unwashed, but I did not feel safe to mention these anymore. Incidentally two rooms down the corridor there were at least 2 empty rooms with double beds, which I saw with my eyes! This revelation made me wonder why all this hassle against us and feel us feel very unwelcome in the hotel. It would be interesting to know why this front desk clerk acted the way she did and insisted on mistreating us. It has certainly ruined our holiday here and doubt we will ever return to Savannah. If this is how they treat lifetime Platinum and Titanium Elites it makes you wonder how they treat normal guests. These is not how professionals in the hospitality business look like. It is a pity because otherwise the breakfast was good and serving staff were very pleasant, always asking how we were, which alas was not so good. For the reasons above and because the reception staff was so unfriendly and unhelpful i do not recommend this hotel at all!

First, this is my personal opinion. This hotel was commentary, so there was no choice for myself. That being said this hotel is in the heart of historic downtown Savannah. Next to many restaurants, and tapas bars, high foot traffic. It is a very busy hotel, lots of guests. The hotel staff seemed overwhelmed, the front desk staff were indifferent. There was a small side street or temporary parking area, i drove by this many times. Parking is valet only, and that is an additional fee. Valet staff were very friendly, and welcoming. Rooms were nice, beds were very comfortable. Noticeable repairs in bathroom. Complimentary breakfast was basic, to keep up with the volume of guests. There were families there but I would not call it a family hotel. It was myself and my daughter, it was more like a pick up location. Lots of staring and uneasy interactions. A guest heard my daughter singing so he knocked on our door and pretended to be hotel staff asking my daughter if she needed towels, just to meet her. It creeped her out. The next night ( we only stayed 2 nights) an inebriated woman came to our room and tried to open the door. She was lost. Through the peep hole we watched this poor woman text her family or friends to come get her. Suffice to say we were happy to check out. If you want to explore downtown Savannah, its very walkable, meet people, hang out eat and drink, flirt, explore the city, This location is for you. If you want relaxation, peace, pool for the kids, not busy, look for something away from the city. Outside photos are morning street views from side street of the hotel.

We did enjoy our stay here. However the second we walked in our hotel room all we smelled was mold. When we were getting ready to leave we realized where it was coming from. We showed the front desk pictures and she wasn’t very surprised about it or caring other than saying they would clean it. We were in room 602 and just don’t want anyone to become sick from this, we do this for work so we are used to it but it even started to make us feel sick. When we checked in they did not really leave any toilet paper as well so we had to go get toilet paper 2 times in a span of 4 days due to them not leaving any or very little. We also did not know when booking that valet was $48 a night and is basically the only option other than parking away from the hotel. Our access into our room did die and needed new batteries and they were on top of getting it fixed for us. We also booked hoping to go swimming and the pool was closed the whole time we were there and the pool was very very smaller than expected anyways. Our room, other than the few bad things, was nice. It had plenty of room and the shower was very big and nice. It is in a good location for walking to river street and shopping. We enjoyed our morning walks to go get breakfast or go shopping.

Very horrible place to stay! Prior to arrival our room was paid and when we checked in we were told our card needed to be on file for incidental fees which we were told $20 or $40. Provided card to the hotel and the next morning there was a charge on my card for $171 and valet parking that I did not sign up for. We used public parking directly across the street so I am not sure why my car was charged for Valet parking. Front desk stated they would take the valet parking charge off but could not tell me what the $171 charge was for. After speaking with the sales manager she couldn’t understand where the odd charge came from and did not total the incidental fee which is their policy $20 or $40 per night which we only stayed 3 nights. While trying to figure things out with the Sales manager the Front End Manager Saleem appeared oblivious to what was going on but did not waste anytime showing aggression, screaming insults, and rolling his neck. Saleem and Robin were very disrespectful and not helpful at all. The Sales manager was very professional and I suggested to only work with her being the Saleem the front end supervisor was very disrespectful. They kept saying the charges were canceled and reversed but my bank stated they did not see anything stating it was canceled and felt I needed proof because something did not seem right. I requested some sort of proof that they attempted to cancel the charge and the sales manager was happy to provide it. 10/10 I do not recommend! They are scamming and making unauthorized charges. There were more people who were being over charged during this stay. Saleem and Robin were very rude and nasty individuals and did not have any interest in solving the issue. Very unbranded should not be apart of anyone's management he couldn’t even manage his nasty attitude let alone a hotel. To top it off we lost power in the hotel and the air conditioner blows out hot air! Again for the General Manager it was not a hold it was a charge! If the policy states $20 or $40 per night for an incidental hold that means for 3 days there will be a hold for either 60 or 120 not 171 dollars. If 171 is your policy then state that’s the policy you don’t tell your guest it’s 20 or 40 and then charge 171 dollars that was clearly not a hold it was a CHARGE and the bank was kind enough to let your staff know as well it was a charge not a hold! Maybe you should ask your staff what the bank told them! Whether your oblivious or not clearly there is someone charging these cards for more than what then what the policy states! Your staff did not even know why my card was being charged 171 dollars it does not add up and clearly out of policy! You can’t make policy as you go! You also cannot scam people then give them new towels but no wash cloths and then state we don’t have any! I thought this was...

Do not use valet service and check your bill.

I stayed here with friends for a Bananaball weekend. There were 6 of us in 4 rooms and we stayed 2 or 3 nights each.

My friend and I reserved a rate that included valet. There was no cost savings, but because we wanted her car to be safely parked, we knew we would use the service. Or at least we thought we’d get the service we paid for.

After checking in on Friday, I texted for the car at 3:55. At 4:25 I got the text that it was ready. The car was unlocked where we’d left it hours earlier on the street behind the hotel (don’t insult them by calling it an alley). When I tried to get the SUV out, the “street” was blocked by cars on both sides and my friend had to go into to give the valet a generous trip to get him to move a car so I’d have room to exit.

When we got back at 10pm, we waited several minutes for the valet but finally handed him the keys and a tip.

At 10:30 the next morning, the day valet called me and asked if she could get the car keys since I didn’t leave them the night before. I told her I gave them to the night valet. She told me the car was parked on the street when she got in at 7 am and night valet said I didn’t leave the keys. But apparently it wasn’t a problem for them for 12.5 hours and she finally found the keys on “the wrong hook.”

The valet manager called me that day and said we would be comped all valet charges. This is where pass-the-buck begins.

When I checked out, I was told the printer was out of ink and I would get an email receipt. Not only wasn’t I comped for the valet - they charged me an additional $90! I tried calling within minutes but couldn’t get an answer. I had just walked off the property but didn’t have time to go back.

The next day Robin credited me the $90 overcharge but said only Bonvoy could comp me for the valet because I booked thru them. Bonvoy manager said only hotel could comp because I had the problem with them. No one cares that I paid the hotel for a service (valet parking in a garage) that I did not receive.

Today the valet manager called to tell me that he got the same runaround from the hotel managers. The valet is called Evolution Parking and Guest Services. Between the 3 entities, none of them cares to make this right. Perhaps my credit card company will.

In other notes, the breakfast was good, the front desk staff often seemed annoyed/distracted and our bathroom sink didn’t drain properly. Location was decent.

For $279/night and a total of 12 nights between us, my friends and I will find a better hotel the next time we go to Savannah. $90 won’t make or break me, but considering we spent over 3k on this hotel, I’d hope they’d find a way to refund $90 as a goodwill gesture. Now I won’t be the only one of us leaving...
