I'll start with the positives: the staff was amazing, both the pm and am group. Many amenities with indoor heated pool, spa, both open all night. 10pm no children. Nice gym. Nice lobby. Nice fire pit out back. Rooms have coffee machine, little fridge that can fit quite a bit, comfortable pillows, many different types of outlets to connect your devices. Free afternoon cookies, free signature breakfast, free code/tea/cocoa all day. These are always such nice touches Now the not so nice:The room was a bit dirty. See photos. The phone had something on the back of it, the chaise lounge had gross white stuff on it. The TV in the nearly $300/night double queen room is outdated. The shower curtain is useless and we had to use all of the towels on the floor of the small bathroom. Dead cricket in the sink... Found a long reddish brown hair in my bed near the pillow. The doors on the sides of the building are not accessible from the outside. This was difficult. While it is in walking distance to all downtown areas and beaches, you have few options to get there. The boardwalks along the riverfront are nice. We were supposed to have an ocean view room however we did not. If the cleaning of the room was better and the rates not so high we'd stay there more. Maybe it's a one time thing... But the rooms need a little updating and a few fixes.

Came to stay last minute. Called a few hours ahead of check in. Smelled a funny smell coming from the bed and mentioned something to the front desk. The man working was very nice but all he was able to offer me was new sheets and blankets. Once I pulled back the sheets I discovered someone had peed in the bed. It was dry but reeked and had a stain (pictured below) I took the soiled sheets down to show the front desk, they said yeah that is nasty we can smell it. Talk to front desk in the morning. Talked to front desk at check out. Was told that they can give 25% off and that I was getting a great deal because my military discount was also added. So I paid $230 to stay in a room for one night with pee all over the bed. Didn’t sleep on the bed. Slept on the pull out couch. Very disappointed. I’ve never had an experience this bad with Holiday Inn. I could’ve paid less for a nearby motel and atleast the bed would’ve been clean. Will never return again. My husband and I paid $230 to sleep on a couch, use a toilet and sink and charge our phones for one night. Unbelievable. I have worked in housekeeping for a hotel and obviously someone seen the bed was still made and didn’t look “slept in” and didn’t change the sheets. When indeed, someone had peed the bed.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites knows how to create that vacation feel! All the basics were covered and then some! Conveniently and beautifully located next to the river with plenty of bustling excitement yet wonderfully quiet when sliders were closed. Our room, overlooking the river, was perfection. Evening sun on the patio and room for two chairs, side table and our pups to lay at our feet. Spotlessly clean with extras like full shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Plus ironing board, locking safe, blow dryer, microwave, and keurig coffee maker. Very comfortable beds and a TV on movable mount for easy viewing from bed or office chair. Other amenities included a delicious free hot breakfast (that rotated choices day to day so we were not bored during our 3 night stay). And I thoroughly appreciated the 24 hr saltwater pool and workout room. And the communal patio with gas fireplaces was an added bonus! Everything in working order and the staff was very pleasant. We stayed as a promotional offer, and they won me over! I will be booking again!

Holiday Inn express Seaside Or has the potential to be amazing. On our recent trip here are the things that were over the top amazing from this hotel..

Holiday Inn express seaside

Jacob general manager

Great customer service..bottle of wine because rooms were not together side by side or on same floor..

When going into room the bathroom had hair and dirty sink drain Jacob came up himself to clean it which was amazing customer service and was amazing character for a general manager..

Jacob..customer relations manager

Absolutly wonderful! When I called in reservation he answered and when I asked about dates he immediately worked on it and once we had two rooms booked he worked on a promo code for me and what I thought was amazing customer service was when he didn't have an answer for a why it wouldn't work he told me he would reach out to his manager to work on it and not only did he work on it but he was able to not only get a solution but also make it work:)

The breakfast team did a wonderful job keeping the food stocked and a great variety..one of the best breakfast we have had..variety included sausage, eggs, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, different flavors of cream cheese, pancakes, juice, milk and coffee oh and muffins!

There were also things that took this Hotel from having an excellent review and they are as follows..

The attention to detail on cleanliness..the stairs in the lobby are absolutly beautiful but they haven't been dusted on the wood parts.

The cookies that usually are waiting for you around 6pm and throughout the evening at other holiday Inn express hotels seemed to never be ready at 6 and once they were gone there were no others left out.

There were employees smoking in the front of the hotel by were you come in..not sure if that was designated smoking area but if so moving it to back is more appropriate.

Towels ran out at one point and they had to put several guest on hold for replacements until they were washed and folded.

There seemed to not be enough staff to properly run the hotel which could have contributed to the cleanliness issue. The staff that was there anytime we asked or needed anything was very gracious and courteous. This being in a resort town may be an issue for not enough staffing as we did see several signs throughout for help wanted at businesses and hotels and this was an extremely busy time.

With people like Jacob the general manager and the other Jacob the customer relations manager and the older women who was the breakfast kitchen team they are all absolutly amazing and are assets to this company and are what made this review and our time...

This hotel is in a great location and is very clean, comfortable etc. The only reason I could not give it a 5 star review was due to an issue we had with a front desk staff member when we first arrived. On check in we arrived about 2:30pm, knowing we were early but just to see if there was a chance our room was ready or if they do what most places are doing and text us once it is ready. Unfortunately when we walked in the lady at the front desk (she was wearing a bleach blonde wig) was clearly not in a good mood. All I could get out was "we are staying here tonight" and she started on a long rant, saying "check in is not until 4pm, that they are not doing any early check in's as they are short staffed and she is unable to put that kind of pressure on her staff." she wouldn't let us get a word in and explain it wasn't a big deal and we would just come back but yet she continued on again saying over and over "we just aren't putting that pressure on ourselves and our staff and you will need to just come back and wait for 4 pm like everyone else". We totally get that and honestly didn't care to us either way but her attitude towards us, the way she spoke to us and the way she made us feel like we were in the wrong for even stepping foot in HER hotel left us with a horribly sour taste in our mouth. This stay was part of a very long road trip and 3 weeks of stays at other hotels and our experience with her became the running joke of our trip to make sure we didn't encounter another terrible check in employee.

Thankfully she was rude to people that can let things go because aside from that experience the hotel was great. The rooms were spotless along with the rest of the property, the other staff we dealt with were amazing, the pool was great and having the river right out our window was great too. I loved the way the rooms were set up also with the bathroom in the center so that you can have some privacy from the other...

The customer service at this hotel was unprofessional and disrespectful. When we arrived to check in, the front desk attendant could not find one of our reservations. She was not calm and professional. Instead, she was angry and rude to us as we attempted to show her that we in fact had two reservations confirmed. Since our reservations were made through a third-party, the hotel had difficulty finding them, even though we called the hotel directly that same day to confirm. No one took any responsibility for all of the chaos, and although they were able to find one room confirmed they could not find the other. Since the hotel was sold out, we were unable to get another room so we left and found a different place to stay. Before leaving, I spoke to another front desk attendant, perhaps the manager, and I asked her why they confirmed our two rooms for us when we called earlier if they only had one room available. Her reply was that she could not hear the person very well when they called to confirm (my dad). She said they may have been on a speakerphone or something. So why did they confirm?? To me that is not doing your job well. If someone calls to confirm a reservation, good customer care means making sure you hear what the person is saying before confirming. You don’t simply brush them off because it’s hard to hear!!! Who even does that????? Had she done her job correctly we would have been able to stay where we intended and have both rooms available to us, which were already prepaid. What a major mess. Again, highly unprofessional front desk, staff, and not accommodating whatsoever. I welcome anyone from upper management to reach out and contact me for further input if you’re interested in improving hotel, customer relations at your...
