Do not get trapped by this overpriced outdated and expensive “resort” that has zero amenities! For 600$ a night I want room service,a restaurant to eat at, a room that’s modern and not gross! The only thing good about this place was the view from our balcony!! Do yourself a favor and stay off the Sedona strip, drive 15 minutes outside of downtown and get a beautiful room and view for 200$ a night that’s pet friendly and actually has liquid cream for the coffee!! They have no amenities!!! No snack bar’s, no drinks, according to the front desk clerk they were wiped out by a group of teenagers a week earlier!! This is at best a motel 6 room with a view!! This is not a resort by any means! Also there website says that if available you can check in early at 2pm vs pm. We called ahead as prompted to by their website to see if early check in was available. In the am a female answered and said she wouldn’t know until later but there was a good chance that we could check in at 2:30, when we called back at two as instructed there was a rude make clerk who said they didn’t offer early check in! It was 3:15 at this point so he said he would do us a favor and let us check in then because it was close to regular check in time…smh and if their entire snack bar which was a row of old empty baskets was wiped out a week prior why hasn’t it been refilled??? Wanted to use the hot tub but being that the jets aren’t working properly the water was flying everywhere outside of the hot tub. The yellow ring around the bathtub was appalling!! Please do your due diligence and dont get scammed. And to whoever responds to these reviews don’t try and pull the old we don’t have a record of you staying with us because my best friend booked the room through expedia and obviously have pictures from your balconies!! I can post more receipts as well like the parking pass for the car and the room key. Edit: I’m not hard to please ! Your many amenities. You mean the pool and hot tub. Your staff is rude and lazy. There’s no restaurant or activities there is no amenities and with the stains on the bathtub I wouldn’t risk the pool. Look for hotels 15 minutes away from the strip. They are much cheaper 120$ pet friendly and newly remodeled. It’s been a month since we stayed in that filthy place and it took you this long to respond. Even you yourself are lazy and rude. This is not a resort your false advertisement is audacious and untrue. 600$ a night for a balcony. That was the only amenity!! Why don’t you advertise correctly or just keep on getting one star reviews and bad publicity and keep hiking your price point and I’m sure you’ll have to sell to someone who is actually willing to update the interior rooms and advertise honestly!! I give good reviews all the time!!! I’m very easy to please but I will not be lied to and deceived without telling!!! Smh!

The view from the pool was incredible and the garden area and gym were very cute and clean. The property, building layout, parking, and location was nice (area felt safe). Mattresses were comfortable and room was clean. However, the rooms are dated. The bathroom needs major updating. The shower was tiny with not enough space to even set down the soaps. It had a fabric curtain that got all wet and let water out into the bathroom. Our toilet had plumbing issues, mini fridge was too small to fit standard pizza box, and there were many ants around the baseboards, in the bathroom, and on the ac/heat unit. Was a good deal for the price compared to other hotels in the area and did the job for our one night stay, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again until bathroom and ant issues are resolved. Response to management reply: We mentioned the toilet issue at checkout. We opted to temporarily fix the toilet ourselves as it was late at night as opposed to calling for help. During our stay we did not open our balcony doors or have food laying out. The ants were all over, crawling on my friends legs while she went to the bathroom this morning and were even found in our sheets. For over 300 for one night (non view room), I was surprised at having this experience. I feel like not having ants is a most basic expectation of any hotel stay, and was honestly surprised we were not offered to have any portion of our cost comped after explaining what we had to deal with at checkout.

LOVE THIS PLACE! We have stayed multiple places in Sedona over the years and Cedars Resort is hands down the best value for your money as well as the best location. Alex got us checked in for our week of fun and frivolity. We left our door open while we brought in our bags and unfortuneatly a very small lizard got in our room. We were slightly spooked but Alex came and saved the day and didn't treat us like fools for leaving our door open. It was actually quite and interesting welcome to your vacation moment. They have ice and soda and light snacks at the office which is great if you just want something for the pool. We had a Canyon View room which offered amazing views of Oak Creek at times and then snow covered red rock mountains one afternoon. Simply breathtaking. Our room was quite spacious and felt new. The balcony offered privacy while still maintaining the panaramic views we wanted. The pool was refreshing and clean. It has a shade cover for those days it gets a little to hot which I thought was nice. There's a hot tub for those snowy days, which we did have one. The sunrises right out of your window so it's hard not to love the red rock views of this place. The whole aesthetic here is a vibe, they have a giant chess set in the garden, seating where you can relax, and it's so quiet. The customer service here is another thing that set's this place apart. Alex and Sierra really treat you kind and with us, that still accounts for something.

I read a lot of reviews before we booked I will address what I and you will read on this establishment in my review.

Booking: I called direct and they matched the online price, which was $4.00 cheaper. On the phone they mentioned that they do not have an elevator so we would have to walk up the stairs to the second level if we would like a room on the second floor. In previous reviews they mention the inconvenience of not having an elevator. I find it hard to believe that they did not mention this if you called and spoke with them. If you booked on a third party site and did not call direct... Your fault NOT theirs. I have used those third party sites and then have called direct to listen to them and ask if they would match the price.. travel tip for ya.

Check in: We arrived early and I put on a smile and went and asked if by chance our room was ready, and it was. The clerk was pleasant and helpful and took out a map and briefed me on the local attractions, and not just a quick run down... she asked what things we were interested in and covered those first and then covered the other attractions. So the accusations in previous reviews about a rude attendant... possibly. However, were you the turd?. Did you see the part where I mentioned "put on a smile?' Try it sometime... it works wonders. And did I mention they told me AGAIN that they didn't have an elevator?

The Room: The room was a very nice size and clean. As for dated...? I'm no interior designer so I guess maybe I shouldn't speak on the subject. However, It was clean.... as for Shag carpet.... I just went carpet shopping I'll be danged if I didn't see something that looked like shag carpet and being touted as new... Maybe you just dated yourself eh..? Did I mention the view...? No? allow me to. Phenomenal! Private balcony peace and quite. All you interior designers out there claiming out dated... Maybe you should go and pay $300-$600 a night elsewhere for a room you are only going to sleep in.... let me say it again SLEEP IN... and I'm sure your residence is up to date... right? You should maybe get over yourself. Because if you are financially independent you are already cash flowing a house in the area for you to use when you visit or are staying at a posh establishment.

Check out: at check in I was informed that I could check out in the morning at the lobby or just leave my keys in the room. While talking with the clerk it was mentioned that checking out in the lobby allows them to get right on cleaning the room because they know it's vacant. So why not think of the people coming in after us. Maybe they want to check in early to. Less than 5 miles down the road I get a call from the clerk who informs me I left a hat in the room... Yet another advantage of checking out at the desk. If I had just left the keys in the room in all probability we would have been in Mesa by the time I noticed.

Location: Awesome well within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

In summary: Call them, listen to their info. Put on a smile when you're check in (don't be a turd). As long as the room is clean princess leave your interior design skills at home in your somewhat updated (but I know what's hip) residence and remember... you're only going to sleep here. Check out in person in the morning. Enjoy the view... I'll say it again enjoy...

I didn't write the review right away because we were traveling. Now we are home, safe and sound. Let me explain our situation. We were traveling across the country. So we were very particular on where and when to stay, because we only have 1 week to travel across the US, so only 1 night per place. Then we pack up and leave for the next destination.

I called in and made reservation on 02/13/2025 for a one night stay on 02/16/2025 (check out 02/17/2025).

We traveled and drove, and I did call the place around 10pm something to let them know I would be arriving late due to some incident. Nobody pick up. I had a bad feeling already. When we finally got to the place and realized that their front desk closed due to staff shortage, and there was only Emergency number. We called the number, it was around 12am something midnight. It was not easy getting in touch with someone, but we finally got in touch with a guy. At first he could not find us in the system, but after a while, he said "oh, you are suppose to be in room 108, there should be email sending instructions and lock box" (but we received none) then he said he would contact his supervisor, and then be out there soon because he only live 2 mins away from the hotel. This was already close to 1:00am.

We waited for more than 30 minutes and nobody came. We called back that emergency number, and it hang up on us every time. We were left stranded.

We could not wait anymore, so we had to drive out another 30mins to find another hotel in the middle of the night.

The next morning, I got a call back from the front desk. At first she sounds nice, and then she pointed out that on the confirmation email, it said the room suppose to be for 02/17/2025. It became a he said she said situation and pointing finger. I took that it's my fault for not checking the confirmation email, but her attitude was very much passive aggressive and she talked to me like I was 5 years old. When I said that we were left stranded, she flat out refused and continue pointing back to "oh you should have checked your confirmation email" and she kept on talking over me without letting me say anything more.

Lady, if you promised to call back / reach out, and you ended up leaving your customer there without any contact. That is the definition of LEFT STRANDED.

At least have a decency of calling back as you promised at that time, so they know and move on with their back up plan.

Everywhere else I visit, we all have late checking, except for this place.

Sedona was a very nice place. Except for...
