The Vault Uptown in Sedona is, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for a fantastic meal.
Let’s start with the food—it was nothing short of amazing. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. Each dish was prepared with such attention to detail that you could tell the chefs here truly care about their craft. From appetizers to dessert, every bite was a testament to their culinary expertise. Whether you’re indulging in one of their signature dishes or something more classic, you won’t be disappointed. They were always on hand with excellent recommendations, whether it was pairing a wine with our meal or suggesting a dessert to finish off our evening. It’s clear that the staff here goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome and well taken care of.

Read moreTL;DR: great service and patio, unremarkable food
This place will remind you that you are in a resort town, high prices for unremarkable food, but It Doesn't Matter Because You Won't Be Back Anyway.
To start, I had a "southwest caeser salad" which was not interesting and had no Caeser-like features - just call it "southwest salad" and move on.
For a main, I had the filet which was an excellent cut of meat and seasoned perfectly, cooked a perfect medium-rare, which was unfortunate since I ordered it medium. My server was very accommodating and offered to fix it, but they were at least two people short on the floor and I had strong doubts that I would get my food back in a reasonable amount of time. It was a weeknight (maybe a new person on the grill?) but for $50, it's fair to expect the food to be cooked as I ordered it the first time.
The entree came with “seasonal vegetables” and these were squarely in the category of “why bother” — lame vegetables, poorly cooked, there was something green and something beige in the mix. I recommend bringing some baby carrots. Oh but hey, there were also mashed potatoes! The MPs were nicely prepared but if I want boring potatoes I can do that on my own.
The high point of dinner (besides the edge of the filet that wasn’t so rare) was the wine, a cabernet from Daou Vineyards in Pasa Robles CA, yum.
I hoped for redemption from dessert with a peach cobbler which was too sweet even without the caramel sauce and didn’t line up with any style of cobbler that I had ever encountered, but I grant there is a lot of variation here. The peaches were mostly cooked and were suspended in a starchy medium so it was a wall of sweetness with no texture variation (except for the couple of hard peach slices).
It’s only one visit, but I don’t know who would go here a second time. The meat cooking error was no big deal, but the rest of it just feels like they know they don’t have to try any harder, so they don’t.
PS: the place has a great patio and the wait staff did a great job under difficult circumstances, and no, I don’t know why I wrote such a long...
Read moreThe Vault Uptown was a pleasant experience for our first meal traveling in Sedona. We sat on the patio which has very nice views of the surrounding mountains. The atmosphere is casual.
The wait staff service was friendly and attentive, and the food service was quick and orderly.
We ordered the honey buffalo wings, ahi wonton tacos, and pastrami sandwich. Everything was very tasty. Wings were saucy enough, nice and crispy, and the ranch dressing was great. I wouldn’t have minded just a few more pieces of ahi tuna in the tacos, nonetheless it tasted great. My fiancés pastrami sandwich was delicious and the rye bread was bakery-worthy.
They give you the option of fries or side salad with a sandwich and my fiancé ordered a side salad. The server didn’t ask what kind of dressing my fiancé wanted which we didn’t notice ourselves at the time. The salad came out dressed in blue cheese dressing. Thankfully my fiancé likes blue cheese dressing, but I’m sure if this happened to someone who wanted a different dressing they would want to send back the salad. I also ordered strawberry lemonade made in house and it was delicious. I appreciate how many menu items they make in house.
They have a 10 minute grace period for reservations, and they request that patrons call if they are running more than 10 min late. We were running late because we were stuck in traffic, however, I had to call the restaurant 6 times before I got an answer. When we did arrive and we approached the hostess, she finished up whatever she was doing on her cell phone before she assisted us which was a little unprofessional. Regardless, they held our table and I appreciated it.
Lastly, the table we sat at was half booth half chair. The booth was dirty and needed to be wiped down.
Otherwise, everything was great. These last remarks are just some little details I noticed.
As a friendly note the price points are a little overpriced, but we are noticing that all restaurants are overpriced in Sedona. Thankfully the quality of the food, good services and attractive views make the price...
