Where should I start...after checking into the Sedona Hilltop Inn, we were informed that the ice machine was broken. Mind you it was 104 degrees out and we had planned many trips where we would need a cooler let alone needing ice in your drinks while you are in the room. We asked the frontdesk hostess if they would reimburse us for all the ice we would need to buy since the machine was down. She said that she would ask the "owners". She later said, they said, that ice was a non essential luxury item, and they would not teimburse us. Mind you, they advertise that they do have an ice machine.. A simple voucher to the liquor store across the street for ice would have been a nice guesture for the inconvenience. The room was decent, nothing special. The view of the Red Rocks was nice. The trash can on the patio smelled like something had died in it. The beds were memory foam so you sink in and leave a hole. Bathrooms were very outdated. We never asked to have our room's serviced for the 4 nights we stayed, (us and another couple we came with). The kicker here is, the host texted me after we left and said that my red hair die stained the sheets and towels and I would be charged $48 for them. Whaaaaatttt? I never washed my hair there. Normal towel usage and sheet usage. It was very hot. Sorry if My sweat made my hair run a bit. I travel all the time and have never, I mean never, been told I owe money to replace towels and sheets that they can bleach. It was the tackiest move EVER. So disappointing. WILL NEVER...
Read moreI took my wife and two young children to this motel. The room next to ours had a couple of guys and a prostitute getting drunk. The disgusting and perverted noises were enough to make us sick- and this continued off and on for hours. This was not the place for two kids under 4 or anybody with self-decency for that matter. We tried calling the front office and going down to it but nobody was there to help us. My wife addressed the disturbing issue at check-out. The owner kept making excuses and justifications. There was no credit or even apology offered. My wife continued to press how unacceptable it was (and embarrassingly had to do this in front of another guest)- with an issue this serious there should have been no grief given. All the owner offered was to stay again for one more night but this time on him. We felt it extremely unprofessional how he dealt with an issue of this nature. We declined his offer- there was no way we would ever stay another night at this establishment. It's a shame we had such an experience. It seems people spoke quite highly of the previous owners, it seems it is not being run to the same caliber as it once was. Be forewarned especially if traveling with children. We also found the motel to be overpriced for how outdated it was. Maybe some rooms have been renovated but ours...
Read moreWe had a couple of spare days to kill after a trip of a lifetime to the Grand Canyon. My mom and her friends had been to Sedona a few times, and while it didn't really sound like our cup of tea, we thought we'd check it out. Mom recommended the Sedona Motel. I called to make our reservation, and the guy who took care of me over the phone was very nice, efficient, and friendly. When we arrived, he gave us a choice of rooms, as it seems like it was not their busy season (mid-January). We picked the room on the far end right next to the patio. The view, of course, was wonderful. We also enjoyed making our coffee in the room in the morning and enjoying it out on the patio (or a beer on the patio in the evening). The room was clean, and the fixtures all functioned well. The guys in the office (I'm not sure if one or both of them were the owners) were also very helpful in directing us to their favorite places to hike around Sedona. They also have the fastest wifi I've ever seen in a public place. As soon as I connected my iPad, I noticed I had nine apps to update; they were downloaded and uploaded quicker than they would have been in my home....
