Ok, the staff are all fantastic! Best part of our stay and they had great recommendations for places to visit and eat!
The FYI: all the rooms are complete carpet except for the bathroom, but NO BED BUGS AS OF 3/16. And we CHECKED EVERY PLACE WE COULD THINK OF TO BE SURE! The heater WORKS, if you are a light sleeper (as am I) you want to get the room a litter warmer than your preference and then TURN IT OFF. IT'S LOUD in a way that's hard to ignore unless you have ear plugs. The refrigerator is also a little noisy BUT I was able to sleepy through that just fine. I love that the room has both a microwave and fridge!
The curtains that give you privacy can leave a little gap that interrupts the flow of COMPLETE privacy will let light in, which is ANTI-NAP if you ask me. BUT if you draw both closed and use a Bobby pin, or clip, complete privacy is achieved and you aren't doing anything permanent or damaging to the curtains.
Shower Temps were consistent! 👍 Community bath products were fine, not terrible but not over the top fantastic. I will say though, the scent of the body wash and conditioner were GREAT!
If staying during colds months, the extra blankets are in the 2nd and 3rd drawers of the dresser. And they help!
The coffee needs A LOT of Creamer if you don't like it strong or you can add more sweetener. If you drink it black....you...are probably the type to also wrestle bears but I try not to judge ;)
Tip housekeeping if you plan to have cleaning done. Because while tipping culture IS getting out of hand, housekeeping is definitely something you should tip for. And they are trained to only take $ if it is left on the nightstand or bed. I left our Tip on the dresser and it was there when we got back and the nice lady at the front desk said that's because they're honest and those 2 spots (bed/nightstand) are usually where people leave tips.
It is walking distance from Heavenly.
PARKING IS LIMITED, even more so when it has been snowing! If you can, leave your car parked and just walk or uber.
Breakfast- while it is certainly NOT breakfast one would get at 4 or 5 star, it does the job. Orange juice, coffee, milk. A great variety of tea and instant oatmeal. On our last day they did bring out a lot of fresh fruit, which was nice. Bagels and toast are in a separate room, just walk straight back. You DON'T NEED YOUR KEY CARD to enter, just turn and push the door handle like it owes you money. Ok, maybe not THAT hard. From 8 to 10, it's open.
At check in you get the cutest Lindor truffle pack!
Again, the staff was great! This trip was just hubby and I but next time, we plan to bring the...
Read moreZero star! Please avoid this hotel. THEY CHARGED US $1000 FOR REPLACING THE OLD FURNITURE AFTER WE LEFT THE HOTEL!!!! It is the first time I left a reviewer for a hotel since this is the first time I have ever met this situation in my whole life in US and abroad. We checked in the hotel on May 29th and checked out on Jun. 1st. As we traveled as a family, so we take extra cautious during the COVID. I went inside the room we booked (Rm No. 115), and I checked and wiped everything before my family members went inside. I noticed all the furniture including the cabinets and dining table are VERY OLD, and even there are some spots in the TV cabinet, which I tried to remove but cannot, suggesting they were there for a long time. But the room is clean and beds are comfortable, as we traveled for a long time and this hotel has a good location, so we decided to stay. I was even joking with my family that they may just pick up the furniture from the garbage lot. THEY DON'T HAVE HOUSEKEEPING FOR THREE DAYS WE STAYED THERE which can be understood as they say it is because COVID to avoid any contact risks. We went out for sightseeing during the daytime and only sleep there for the night, and take care of room carefully.
Then the most ridiculous thing came after we left the hotel, they CHARGE $1000 MORE TO MY CARD, I called the hotel and person keeps telling me we damaged the furniture which needs to be replaced. I am totally shocked and get into mad as we DIDN'T DAMAGE OR DO ANYTHING TO THEIR SUPER OLD AND DIRTY FURNITURE!!! THEY JUST WANT TO SCAPEGOAT US AND LET US PAY THE MONEY TO UPDATE THE FURNITURE!!!
I don't know if we are the first one to be framed by this hotel or others, and I feel so unfair and disregarded in front of this situation. If anyone have the similar experiences, PLEASE contact me and it is time we start taking some actions!
Updated: Surprised the owner replied here. Btw, they never contacted me after they put the charge on my card after my call. The fact is we NEVER DO anything to their furniture!!! They just want to take advantage of us.
Reported this hotel to BBB and FTC. Contacted my credit card company for protection immediately. Just a reminder, don't risk yourself and your trip with this hotel, similar things may happen to you one day. Hope everyone has a wonderful and...
Read moreFirst I want to start by saying I have been staying at hotels every night for the past 2 1/2 weeks. This place is an absolute dump and the worst place I have stayed from new York to California. I honestly don't know how it got such high reviews because I couldn't imagine anyone having anything nice to say about this place except for its location to state line. My rooms was pretty gross from the second I walked in but honestly I'm not extremely picky about things like that, but as time went on everything became a problem. The bed sheets and blankets are that of which you would find at a 20 dollar a night motel 6 or super 8 off a highway in Russia. The walls are all dented, grime EVERYWHERE in the corners, mold and scum build up in the bathroom. I felt gross just being in there. But all that plus the outdated tv and fixtures, I still wasn't complaining. This was the issue... OUR TOILET DIDNT WORK FOR THE 2 DAYS WE STAYED THERE!!!!!! We reported this problem only for them to tell me no one was around to fix it. Never once offered a different room, never once offered a discount. I had to drive my family to the cvs down the street to use the bathrooms. The staff was extremely rude telling me it was MY fault for not reporting the problem during the correct hours. And their response was "things happen" I paid over 120 dollars a night to stay in a place without a toilet.. Honestly I have no vendetta against this place but I am writing this to please please help the next person thinking about booking a night here. If your 21 looking to hit the casinos and fall into a grime bed with no remeberance of the hotel the next day, right on! this might be a place for you. But if you are looking to have a decent hotel experience feeling clean or expect to use a toilet, RUN RUN RUN! I left and checked into 3 peaks across the street which is AMAZING for the same price! Clean rooms updated tv's . A WORKING TOILET! Seriosuly if I could give blue lake inn -5 stars, I would.... Twice. Please friends...
