The atmosphere was nice. The waiter was also very nice and polite so 10/10 for that. But the food on the other hand was not went in for some late lunch but just got appetizers the guacamole and chips and the queso with chorizo and chips. The queso was ok with better flavor. The guacamole on the other hand unfortunately was not. 95% of it was white onion and tomatoes mixed in with a good scoop of both on top. Looked like thick green salsa instead of guacamole. They put out some red salsa for the chips also which had no flavor just tasted like actual pure water. So we did not order anything for lunch since the appetizers were not very great. Price is pretty expensive. Guacamole was $16 queso was $15. One taco is at about $6 each. And my boyfriend was gonna order the wet burrito it was $23 I was going to order the enchiladas suiza which was $25. But my faith in how the food would taste was not there when we got the appetizers. But the music was nice I was vibing with karol G and maluma. Had high hopes for this restaurant but food is not good will not be going back unfortunately its way to expensive for how incredibly bland it tastes. And how they try to fill the guacamole with pure onion and tomatoes This is on their website but I guess for my experience the vibrant spices, fresh ingredients, and mouth watering aromas went on vacation because I had none of that I Also probably wouldn't classify this as authentic Mexican food But I do hope others have a better experience I just will never go back and for the price and first initial impression on the food it's not worth my time or my money. I V Indulge in our authentic Mexican dishes made with love and passion. Our skilled chefs infuse the flavors of Mexico into every bite. I have a feeling many of these reviews are somewhat biased because of this and this definitely goes against the TOS for google reviews. The service was terrible. Walked in, said we had to wait 10 mins for a table despite there being many open tables. I assume it was short staffed that day nbd. The employee told us we could wait inside so we sat at the bar. He then proceeded to forget about us. We waited well over 10 minutes (not sure how long, didnt bother keeping track cause I thought itd be quick) and then started noticing people walking in and getting seated immediately so I talked to him and he finally gave us a table. The waiter never refilled our waters, or cleared plates off our table despite visiting several times throughout the meal. Additionally the description on the menu is very inaccurate to what you get. For every thing we ordered they were missing significant pieces of the meal. The food itself tasted good, and they gave us a lot of meat, but I felt cheated needing to pay $30 for fajitas which only included 3 tortillas, meat, and bell peppers. No cheese, no beans, no rice... Chips were not complimentary which seems a little odd for a Mexican restaurant. Honestly you get waaay more value just eating at a Chevy's than you do here. Spent close to $90 on the meal for two. 1 appetizer 2...
Read moreSo we decided to go into Cantarito Bar today for a drink and appetizers with the family. We asked to be sat outside since it was a nice day. We sat right alongside the restaurant in a round table with a fire pit in the middle. After a little while it got cold and windy so we decide to ask our waiter Matias to please turn on the fire. He provided exceptional service by the way. So then comes a short guy with spikey hair and says âitâs not even cold for this to be on cause Iâm not cold and we only turn this on at night so I shouldnât turn it onâ. He proceeded to âturn it onâ and left which he didnât even turn the gas on Iâm assuming since nothing came out of the pit and left probably pretended to do it just to shut us up. We mentioned this to our waiter and was totally apologetic about this. Nonetheless this isnât a proper way to speak to a customer or is it appropriate to treat them that way. On our way out I told that same guy âyou almost burned us with the fire pit flame and ignored meâ which was just a sarcastic remark of me to let him know we knew what he had done. We come to Tahoe about 5x a year and make it a point to eat there every time which Iâm not sure weâll do after...
