Absolutely abysmal is the best way to describe our experience. First off this used to be the days inn of Tahoe. New owners and management have taken over looks like for the last year. They use a piece of white paper with hand drawn layout of the hotel to keep track of which rooms are booked and which rooms are available… DO NOT BOOK HERE! Extremely overpriced. Do not stay! We paid for the standard queen room with two queens through booking.com/priceline. Family of four with a shepherd dog traveling with us. For the amount of money we paid just for one night plus all of the additional fees added on I was extremely not satisfied with the condition of the room. Pulled into the hotel and there are papers everywhere with two different numbers for the hotel front desk. Called both no answer. I walk into the hotel to check in for our reservation. Guy behind the counter says room that we booked can’t be given to us and we need to be moved to a different room and it’s smaller because the room we booked is not dog friendly (even though website and management said it was). Do we get a refund for the difference because now it is a smaller room so there for we should get the difference back? NO! Call Priceline and talk to them sir. I call Priceline and the customer service calls three different numbers no answer. Give them both numbers that are plastered all over the property no answer. I walk into the hotel lobby and wait patiently behind 6 people to have them talk to the front desk. The hotel clerk refuses to even talk to them and then says sir I can’t do this there are people behind you that need to be helped. Yes I understand that, but there were 6 people in front of me as well who you helped and I waited and now it’s my turn. I am not staying here please refund my money and I will be leaving the property. It was at that point the clerk then said call Priceline and I have them on the phone and he again refused to talk to them. Then said that I am becoming escalated and theta they will call the police. I then get my family back in our car and start to leave the property and look for a new hotel. Called bank and charges were reversed thank god. The room next to us had two ladies traveling with their dog who also booked through booking.com/priceline and a group of guys were given a key to their room because on paper… it showed the room was vacant. The guys open the door and the ladies scream and the dog lunged at them and the guys scream and slammed the door. Definitely didn’t feel safe with my wife and two daughters after that. Overpriced, trashy, miscommunication with booking agencies, no organization, paper tracking of rooms, passes the buck for all issues, and horrible customer service. DO NOT BOOK...
Read moreHorrible experience from check in to check out. Check in time is 3pm. After a long drive in traffic, we arrived at 4pm expecting to shower and relax, only to be told our room wasn’t ready for another 30-40 minutes (as well as additional multiple guests that were also waiting to check in). We were told we were receiving an upgrade, but didn’t. The room was old and the carpet was wet. I’m hoping it was from a shampoo cleaning? The shower seemed to work find the night we checked in, but when we attempted to take a shower the following night after an all day hike, the shower was full of dirty water! The front desk did nothing and said we can leave if we want and get a refund, otherwise they weren’t going to compensate us or fix it that evening! The following day the shower somehow ended up draining. We walked to get breakfast and coffee and planned to shower before checking out. Upon our return to the room, the shower was filled with dirty water again! From what? When we called the front desk and told them we needed a later checkout due to the shower issue, the guy told us that was our problem! Excuse me? How is it our problem? They allowed us to shower in another room and when we walked into the room it hadn’t been cleaned yet! The bed wasn’t made and the bathroom was steamy and wet from the people who just checked out! There were punk hairs on the toilet and in the shower! Horrible staff and horrible service! Stay away from this place! There is no corporate office to complain to and this is what I get for booking at a place like this! We should have booked one of the casinos but we were not spending time at the room and planned to be hiking and at the lake all day so we didn’t want to spend $400+ on a room and I had a government employee discount at this place....
Read moreWe had an unacceptable situation with this hotel. Upon arrival, we were told the room we had reserved was not available and we’re given a “substitute”. We were ok with that option. However, this room was unsuitable for anyone. The bathroom was rotted and had black mold throughout. The door to outside also did not fully close leaving a gap large enoug in which you could see through, even when fully “closed”. We went to the front desk to ask for a different room due to these issues. We were shown an additional room with similar, albeit not quite as bad, issues. We then felt uncomfortable to stay and realized we would prefer to stay elsewhere. The front desk manager, Sam, was extremely rude and unhelpful. We asked that we would be refunded and they refused. Hotels.com was contacted and they helped us on their end but the customer service agent also had issues communicating with them and agreed that the front desk manager was not helpful at all.
We are not fancy people. We understand you get what you pay for and since we usually plan to be out hiking and enjoying nature we don’t mind a more basic place to sleep at night. However, a completely moldy bathroom is unacceptable and no one should ever sleep in that. I cannot believe that they felt this is adequate to offer guests. Trust us, do...
