We visited South Padre Island this past weekend. CAM Shack stands out as a culinary gem. Our visit to CAM Shack was nothing short of memorable, thanks in large part to the charming owner, Camilo, whose infectious personality added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
From the moment we arrived, Camilo greeted us with a genuine smile and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. His passion for food and dedication to his craft shone through as he shared the story behind CAM Shack and its delectable offerings.
As we saw the menu, we were happy with the choices, ultimately we decided on the Shrimp Tacos and the Bistec Baked Potato. Both dishes were nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing the fresh flavors and expertly crafted combinations that CAM Shack is known for.
The Shrimp Tacos were a flavorfull, with plump, succulent shrimp. Each bite was a delightful balance of textures and flavors that left us craving more.
Equally impressive was the Bistec Baked Potato, a hearty and satisfying dish that elevated the humble potato to new heights. Smothered in savory toppings that tantalized our taste buds with every forkful.
What truly sets CAM Shack apart is not only the exceptional quality of the food but also the genuine hospitality and warmth that Camilo brings to the table. Dining at CAM Shack feels like visiting an old friend, where good food and good company come together to create lasting memories.
Whether you're a local looking for a new favorite food truck or a visitor seeking an authentic taste of South Padre Island, CAM Shack is a must-visit destination. With its amazing personality, great food, and welcoming atmosphere, it's no wonder why CAM Shack has quickly become a beloved staple in...
Read moreWe ordered multiple Texas Size burritos. Carnitas, Bistec, y Pollo all were so bad the cook said it would be a certain size and for them to say Texas size is an absolute joke. More like Rhode Island size burrito. But hey, I thought the flavor would make up for it, but I guess its good the burrito was small because the flavor was no where to be found. PLUS, week old stale rice & beans, with no flavor, and all the meats were just mushy. Added green salsa to give it some flavor and it was just green water. Worst burrito I've ever ate. I threw it away after a couple bites. Strongly suggest to never have the joke they call a "Texas size" no flavor condiments wrapped...
Read moreI always feel bad about writing bad reviews, but things have got to change. We’ve been here twice and both times were disappointments. I didn’t write anything the last time because I wanted to give it a second chance. The first time we ordered fish tacos, and they smelled like the fish had gone bad. We had to throw the whole plate away. A waste of money.
The second time we went, we got a slice of pizza. It was 7 dollars for a small single slice of frozen pizza that was still cold when we got it. It looks nothing like the photo in their truck. Literal waste of money. The other food trucks here are great. This one is...
