Kooper Blue , Kloud, and K9 Family and Friends ( and Humans ! ) Have been Visiting O'Sullivan's at Least Once a Season since 2016.||Every year we are impressed by the newest renovations to both the rooms/ cabins / cottages and the property itself.||O'Sullivan's is family owned and operated, with the owners living on site. This is especially helpful if you happen to lock yourself out of your cabin, after visiting the office for your morning coffee :-).||O'Sullivan's is Pet Welcoming in Cabins / Cottages and Select Rooms. ||Most, if not all , pet welcoming cabins/ cottages have rolling , locking gates on the porches. This is a great feature in that your dog can relax on the deck with you, without worry of him meandering across the way to visit the neighbor's dog. ||In addition to the lodging being Pet Welcoming, O'Sullivan's allows K9s to Kewl off in The Lake during "Off Peak" Hours ! Depending on the Season / Day/ Lake Temp, that can be just about anytime. it all depends on when other guests choose to use the beach and swimming area.||Pet waste bag dispensers and cans are conveniently located thru out the property, these are especially useful for our 6AM Sunrise walks, as my jammies don't have pockets!||As for the Actual Accommodations, We've had the pleasure of spending time in several different cabins and cottages. Each one is comfortable, charming and unique in it's own way. They are Clean upon check-in, The beds have always been "just right", the ACs, and in autumn, the heating units, have always worked ( quietly too ! ) , though , I usually opt to open the windows and let the Lake Breeze flow thru.||On days when the temps start to soar, I've taken advantage of the seasonal outdoor swimming pool. The pool is clear, clean and refreshing. Every season O'Sullivan's adds more to the pool patio area.. more/ newer chairs. loungers, tables and umbrellas. Be sure to take advantage of the pool, not just the lake !||Though I'm a Solo Female Traveler, I have always felt Safe during my stays both at O'Sullivan's, which is very well lit at night, and during my walks to the village of Lake George. ||Granted, having an 85 pound German Shepherd with me at all times makes me feel even safer :-), but so do the Warren County Sheriff Units that patrol the streets and businesses of Lake George all season long. ||If there's any "cons" to staying at O'Sullivan's , they would be that ||A: The Peace and Relaxation that can be found there becomes addicting , and you find yourself wanting / needing to return several times thru out the season. You may quickly exceed your allotted vacation time !||B: O'Sullivan's ( and most all the smaller , family owned motels) is Seasonal.. and while I'd Love to visit and hunker down in a cabin during an ole fashioned Adirondack snow storm, I understand the work / manpower/ expense that would be necessary to be open year round. ||||In closing.. O'Sullivan's is our Kabin Away From Home during the Summer, Give Them a Visit, You'll be Glad You Did .||In fact.. Tell Them Kooper...
Read moreGreatly thankful that this place is pet friendly because our dog has separation anxiety. We were a party of 4 so there was always someone with our little dog. Although she hates going into the water, oddly enough, she enjoys being at the water. She got to hang out at the tiny beach front and meet all the dogs who were friendly to greet her and the dog-loving people who petted her and spoke to her, she loved it. Our shared bed was too small for us because we are both big, we should have a king size bed, but we had our own couple room. My son and daughter had the other room and they had the perfect size double beds for each. The beds were too soft for me and my son, but two others in our group like soft beds. I took a nice nap and refreshed on the hard futon sofa in the living room, the dog also liked the futon sofa. I like that the bathroom sink was outside the bathroom so that people could brush teeth, etc while another used the toilet/shower. We had alot of space which made it incredibly tolerable to be with eachother, we weren't in eachother's way. We have stayed at LG before, we have stayed at some rundown places and smoke filled, we really enjoyed this visit compared to the other dog friendly motels of the past. The front desk was always helpful when I asked for clean towels, toilet paper, and ping pong paddles/balls, and answered my other questions. We rented kayaks from the motel which went seamless and incredibly convenient. Kayak rental was cash only. Access to the lake cannot be any better, but like all of LG, it is harder for someone who has physical challenges of walking uphill/downhill and they have to take it slow, most of the property is flat until you go to the cabin section to the water, the same is true of the village park and everywhere to get to the water. You can stand in the lake for a good distance, it is safe for a non-swimmer. Do not forget to bring your own water tubes and floaties, we also brought our own pool towels as well as all the other guests. I personally did not use the pool but it seemed very nice, in-ground, it had steps for easy in and out and a second step rail on a deeper end, I like that you can use the pool and the people walking by on the street could not see you, I'd say the pool is semi-private view from the public. I would recommend that the owner paint the spots with the room numbers, which had disappeared from most spots or were very faint. I did not realize there were marked parking spots and when I did, there was a motorcycle parked in our room spot for the whole stay, so we tried to park one number over or across, that would mean we were forced to take another room's spot. It is written somewhere that each room gets one spot but I think there were more vehicles than that. I did not witness any issues, but there was a night when we hung out at the motel, and I saw a few vehicles circling and trying to find a spot. It happened to us but after one circle, we found a spot away from our room. I would like to...
Read moreOur family of 4 adults rents 2 rooms every August for a fun summer vacation in Lake George. We keep coming back because of the family friendly environment as well as the price and convenience. The motel is family operated, and the management really cares about their guests. Prices have not increased drastically as opposed to other places we have visited this year. We like the proximity to all of the best restaurants, stores and attractions in Lake George Village- you can actually walk to most things, which saves money and stress! The motel is relatively quiet because it caters mostly to families with children and senior guests. We have never had a complaint about loud music, unruly guests, or noise while staying here. Rooms are clean and come standard with a mini fridge, cable TV and table/chairs. They recently remodeled, so the bathrooms are ultra-modern (I miss the 50's style pink and mint tiles though LOL) and beds are newer. They do have a small laundry room as well as ice and snack machines near the office. The lakefront area is clean and safe- you can leave your floaties/toys down there and not worry about theft. Do wish there were more chairs to lay out, but the beach area is smaller and it is first come first serve, so I sometimes lay out near the pool instead. Compared to other places I have stayed, their lake area is the best because it is deep enough to swim, and they are no rocks under the water. No lifeguard on duty, so keep that in mind if you have small children and are booking. Ample parking too-if you can't find a space near your room, there is an overflow area. Although we do not currently have any, they do accept pet reservations (select rooms only-call for availability), which makes the stay even better! We LOVE meeting all the pups during our stay. Thank you to Matthew and the staff for making our yearly visits so special! We will always be part of the...
