This motel could easily be rated 3 or 4 stars with a little attention to details. It has an excellent location on the lake with only a two or three block walk to the center of town. The outside has been updated with new paint and outdoor furniture. Lack of security is a big issue. New electronic locks have been added to all the rooms. It is the only hotel or motel I have ever been in where the doors do not lock when they are closed. The only locks are deadbolts which require you to turn the lock on the inside or press a lock button on the outside. There is no warning on the doors or at the front desk to tell you this, so I suspect many times rooms are inadvertently left in locked. Rooms have large sliding glass windows. Ours had no locks! They are easily opened from the outside. When we mentioned this at the office the reply was "Don't worry, this is a safe area! After dinner we walked back to a pitch black parking lot and exterior. The sun went down about an hour before. The office staff turned on the exterior lights after we asked ( and the stayed on the entire next day). The railings on the second floor in many areas are not very high; they are up to mid thigh on a tall person-not very effective. There was no hair dryer in the room. The front desk suggested we check all drawers, etc. We did. No dryer. No offer to retrieve one from the 40+ empty rooms that night. Interior furniture of the room was not matched and lawn sale quality. We brought in some chairs from the desk as they were more comfortable and not wobbly. Curtains on the doors were not wide enough or long enough. They looked strange and did not block out the sun. The hotel has a great location, but management is appearantly lacking. It really wouldn't take much money to effort to rapidly improve...
Read moreI recently stayed at Park Lane Motel in Lake George and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—everyone was so helpful, friendly, and accommodating, making check-in and every interaction a breeze.
The beds were unbelievably comfortable, offering the perfect place to crash after a long day of enjoying everything the area has to offer. I honestly slept better there than I have in weeks—like being wrapped in a cloud.
One of the highlights was definitely the private lakeside beach. It had such a cozy, peaceful vibe with stunning views. Whether you wanted to just relax with a book or enjoy the water, it was the perfect spot. And bonus: they had kayaks and paddle boards available for guests to use! We took full advantage and spent a good chunk of the day out on the lake—it was an unforgettable experience.
After being out on the water, coming back to our room and hopping into the hot shower was absolute bliss. Great water pressure, plenty of hot water, and a real sense of relaxation—exactly what you want after an active day.
If you're looking for a spot in Lake George with charm, comfort, and a friendly atmosphere, Park Lane is it. We’ll absolutely...
Read morePros: Located within walking distance to shops, activities, restaurants, and the ferry services, there are chairs outside the rooms to enjoy the weather, there are plenty of grills for guests to use- by the pool and on the deck overlooking the lake, there’s a small beach area with lounge chairs and a dock, the room was clean, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, the refrigerator was clean, the staff were friendly, and the price was right. Cons: Room 44 was one of the few with a window that didn’t open and no bathroom exhaust fan…and our diets are fibrous—so glad there were only 2 of us - the air conditioner helped a little, but nothing like some fresh air. *Beware of the shower- the water would suddenly change to scalding hot water and freezing cold water at least 3-4 times during a 10 minute period. I felt like I was an accused witch in Salem doing a polar plunge. I’m just glad the adjoining rooms didn’t have children in them. It would also be great to have some kind of coat hook to hang stuff on other than the one in the bathroom. Overall, our stay was great and we would go again, just...
