The Motel is just old. The foreign owner simply uses it as a cash machine and allows his friend, to live there with his family, in exchange for running it for him. Between homes, I stayed through the winter because, they rent out the efficiencies weekly as temporary housing during the off season. Then they throw those people out during tourist season to make the big money per night. The flat roof building is original to the oceanfront strip. The motel like others nearby, was built with concrete back in the late 40's. Has a large hot water furnace system that can't be cut down per room. Making the rooms super hot and the water dangerously scolding. The Buildings system only allows ether Heat or AC on at a time for all the rooms together. We were instructed to keep the bed away from the back wall because mildew grows on it quickly. You can see it inside the pictures. The walls are simply made of cinderblock and the ceiling of concrete. Recent renovations added panel to the bathrooms and countertops. Units upstairs are nicer, because they fill the downstairs units first. Might be ok for a quick stay durring the summer, but as long term, you've been warned. Office calls all the time, for the dumbest of reasons.
Personal Review
I have over 6 months experience as a guest with this place. I wrote this to be honest and informative, not as some sort of revenge. Everything explained was observed and experienced personally and has not been exaggerated. This place never refunded my deposit or Taxes after 90 days. Owing us over $700. Gave no notice to vacate & waited for me to leave to put my wife out in the snow, at night, locking us away from our property. Simply cruel business. I ask every reader with a heart, NOT TO STAY HERE! I have nothing to hide so, feel free to contact me with questions.

Read moreLet me start by saying that I am not one of those preppy type people who wants a 5 star hotel/motel for a 1 star price. As long as it's clean and safe I'm generally satisfied. We stayed for 3 nights because there is a 48 hour notice required for refunds. As soon as we pulled up to the motel I felt a knot in my stomach. It looked much better in the online photos than in person. Some may take this as sounding "snooty" but I do NOT mean it that way. This place just seems to attract a lower class of people. It's hard to put into words what I mean but as soon as we started to our room it was obvious. I'm not sure if that's because they have tenants that rent by the week or what, but our first night was not great. There were people blocking the pathway to our room which was next to the pool area. They were smoking and drinking and were VERY loud and rude and the language was horrible. Luckily, our kids aren't young but if they had been I'd have been upset. It was quieter the last 2 nights we were there. Luckily, we took a fan with us that helped as a buffer for the noise. We did not linger outside our room because we were just not comfortable doing so. The room was fairly small and the beds weren't the most comfortable. I did check for bed bugs and didn't see anything so there is that. If you decide to stay here you will definitely want to bring your own pillows...trust me on that. Those provided are about 2 inches thick with a plastic/vinyl covering. After reading other reviews before we booked here, I was under the impression that the rooms came with a full kitchen but that wasn't the case. I guess those rooms are premium rooms. Our room was just a regular small room with 2 double beds. The room definitely had an old musty building smell to it that we never quite got use to. The a/c worked great and the room stayed very cool. The pool is small and not very inviting...there were almost always people out there drinking and smoking (which is fine if you don't mind breathing in second hand smoke) so we stayed clear of that. Parking was terrible...it's very likely that you'll come in from a day out and find that there is nowhere for you to park. There is beach parking right behind the motel but it isn't free...we saw it go from $5 to $10 from one day to the next. The walk from the motel to the beach and shopping was short as advertised. WiFi was pretty good and no complaints about the tv/cable.
We never felt comfortable or completely safe at this motel but it was affordable and near the beach. I think some of these reviews were written by someone with something to gain from positive reviews...It's difficult to imagine that so many people possibly think this is a "great" or "wonderful" "friendly" place. Of course, everyone is different and maybe others may have different expectations and had a different experience but we would definitely not...
Read moreIt's an older hotel but served it's purpose, great location for the price. We got the 1bdr for 4 of us the room size was great full kitchen no utensils but you can rent them from the office. The outside needs painted and updated. Parking lot was horrible, dirty no maintenance at all. Garbage everywhere, people leaving trash all over. The pool was fine ,clean no garbage around. Parking was bad especially at night if you leave and go out you will not get back in front of your room if you're lucky to find parking at all. I had to park on the side by the dumpster even though you are told row by rooms are for those rooms and back row is for rooms on top. You are giving a parking pass with room number so you know rule wasn't followed. I always check beds for bugs I didn't find any. Sheets was clean, there was some paper under the beds that wasn't cleaned,no big deal. Bathroom was clean had all toileters,it was older but clean. Livingroom was clean except for the pull out couch and this is the bad review I give.. It was disguisting and that's being kind. We pulled it out and omg the mattress was all black from mold not just a little you could smell the mold and chocking you it was that bad. Dead bugs was in it not bed bugs but flies crickets and a spider. We closed it up and got sheets to layer the couch so we would have a place to sit. The man from the front desk that works there in the summer was amazing. So kind and helpful he was talking to my son about good choices in life he's 16 and he said I know a basketball player when I see one and ball is his life. He was giving him words of wisdom and I appreciate any person who takes a interest in a child doing right in life. House keeping was great but short staff so they was doing their best. They can't find workers so a maid service had to come in to help. The price is great only a street and short walk across the street to the beach and pier. I would definitely stay here again in the future but the couch definitely needs to be replaced I never seen...
