If you are the type of person who likes to get drunk, run up and down the halls screaming for everybody to wake up in the middle of the night, this is the place for you! Management apparently will tolerate this type of behavior and will not kick you out!
So this is our 3rd time staying here. The first visit was during a tropical storm where our room flooded. Water was being blown in from the balcony doors and from under the wall unit A/C. Water was dripping from the ceiling and there was an inch of standing water on the floor. It took a couple hours for them to find a dry room for us. We really didn't even get an apology from management and ended up with soaked luggage, etc. Still, this place has pretty nice rooms and we came back again for another visit.
Our second visit was fine with no issues.
The recent visit wasn't great. We always try to avoid speaking to the timeshare sales people when we check in. I don't want to buy a timeshare and I absolutely don't want to deal with somebody who is trying to convince me to waste money on something I don't want. Apparently now they will call you to try to scam... I mean convince you to take a timeshare tour. Sorry, still not happening. As for the room, it's a nice room at first glance. When you really pay attention, you'll notice the musty smell, likely from the fact that the entire building has been flooded. Even now, the wall unit AC units drain onto the interior floor and not the exterior like they should. We woke up to another inch of water from the AC unit!!
The fun part was the group of people partying on our floor. They decided everybody else should be awake at 1 in the morning, then again at 2 in the morning, then again a few more times. They were screaming in the hall for everybody to wake up. When security/management came, they yelled for them to shut up, then did it a few more times. The walls are pretty thin in this place so we could definitely hear a group of what seemed like 10 people yelling right outside our door. I actually called down to the front desk and was told that this group had been warned and that they will absolutely not be bothering anybody anymore. And this turned out to be a lie because they kept doing it all night. I guess management doesn't care about flooding, people partying loudly and yelling in the halls at 2-3 in the morning, etc.
When I checked out in the morning, I asked why they weren't removed from the property. I was told they should have been but weren't. I think I'm going to find another place to stay when I visit Virginia Beach. I'm 2 for 3 with this place. At least they could have offered to make it right somehow, but I really don't think they care about anything other than selling you...

The balcony view of the ocean š is beautiful! You can even hear the waves with the door shut. The king bed was actually very comfortable!
The lady at the front desk was nice.
The guy later tradee me pennies for a quarted for the pressed pennies machine like 10 blocks down. I collect them.
The Air conditioner works great.
The breakfast was alright. Cereal, toast, bagels, nature valley bars, yogurt, oranges, bananas, orange juice and apple juice. Make sure you have the breakfast ticket they give you when you check in or they won't let you have any. I've seen people complain they didn't get any. So make sure you ask if you don't!
The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And warm before turning it all the way on!
I loved that it's so close to the Pier, boardwalk and the shops!
There's a parking garage but it's very short. Be careful. Not meant for big trucks! My 2014 Dodge dart scrapped the front too when coming down to the next level. We were on the 3rd level.
Cons:
The elevators are scarry! I have a video of one but it doesn't do it justice. You can only hear the squeaking of one. Can't see it shaking or the doors not wanting to open at 1st. The 2nd elevator isn't horrible. But still didn't like them. I usually don't have an issue.
There's a lot of rust in the room we had. 9th floor. The bottom of the shelves in the shower have rust, the bottom of the shower bar, the door to the balcony had rust at the top and bottom on the inside and out. I assume it's from the amount of salt in the air from the ocean.
The shower curtain doesn't stay shut since the magnet is missing from the side by the faucet. Which also let's water out on the floor, making a puddle.
The water doesn't go down very well. My feet were covered almost completely by the time I was done with my 10 minute (if that) shower! I'm guessing there's a lot of sand blocking the pipe. We wiped most of it off before getting in so not to help the problem along.
The bathroom fan is falling out of the ceiling and is loud! It turns on when you turn the light on.
The balcony had a moldy spot due to what I assume was the air condition on top of the building dripping constantly. It was enough that the ground below (right above the doors to get in and out by the shop inside) was a little moldy also. It never dried in the 3 days we were there.
Do not lean on the balcony railing. It's not the most sturdy.
Not a super issue but Make sure you don't get sand in the bed! It's very difficult to get it all out! There was sand everywhere when we left. Well we swept as much up as possible but it's like glitter! You touch one piece and it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very disappointed in my stay on Memorial weekend this year 2022. I stayed here last year 2021 for Spring break and it was awesome. This year it was horrible for example the elevator broke for 12 floors of over 100 guests when I had arrived with my belongings. The front desk clerk greeted me and then act like she didn't here anything I was telling her but when the Caucasian people got there she heard them loud in clear the first time which made me feel racially profiled. Before arrival on your iternary they don't tell you if your a renter you pay a 100 dollars deposit and if you are a regular and booked online you pay 300 dollars deposit. That information should be told before arrival. When your at the front desk to register you need your license plate number so that was a little inconvenience to go back out of line to the car and read it off. Also they have a time share company by Hilton on there site that harrass you immediately after you register to do a 90min time share. When I got to my room I had a broken door and no utensils and cleaning supplies for dishes..I called the front desk they sent maintenance Supervisor she came and looked at everything plus noted the damage on walls and closets in the room. My family and I spent 40 mins waiting for maintenance to come fix the door which was a big inconvenience after a 4 hour drive we were so hungry ready to go get food. Leaving out with one elevator was another 30min wait on top of the 40mins already well spent. It was hard for my Mom being as though we were on the 7th floor we had to take the steps. On my last day the elevator company came to fix the elevator just my luck that would happen when it's time to go back home. For it to be a resort you get no discounts on the restaurant that is part of the resort but not involved with the company. Also they are going through a change with a buy out with Hilton so things are going through a major turnover now that Hilton has brought out Diamonds Boardwalk resorts so when I asked can I use my hilton Honors rewards they said not until 2023. Overall my stay was a 3 day 2 night inconvenience and not a 4 star resort feeling of a stay. The oceanfront view and location is the only reason they got a 3 star rating. I may not...
