So sad about not being able to eat at this establishment. My son order a to go order on 7/29 he absolutely loved his crab cake sandwich and fixin’s. He went again on 7/30 to place 2 orders 1 for his dad.
Here’s where things turn bad. On this day the manager or owner told my son he doesn’t do to go orders. My son turned on his camera as the man had an aggressive attitude. My son is of mixed race he knew instantly what was happening. Sigh. When my son explained he order without issue the day before why won’t he serve him now. The man said I don’t like ur attitude leave or I will call 911. My son said for what I’m just asking a question the man said this is my establishment and I do not want to serve u. So get out he held the door open for him and still told his staff to call 911. Even though he was the aggressor.
Sad my son still has to go through this. Men of color have feelings and this business owner judged my light skin 25 year old son because of the color of his skin only. My son went to private schools and speaks well so he knows never to speak in an aggressive tone. being your complexion alone intimidates some ppl and others are just pure racists and it would appear that this is the case here.
It’s draining having to deal with this even on a vacation. Being Puerto Rican and Black is beautiful and my children and grandchildren are beautiful inside and out. You mister are an ugly human. The video I saw of ur behavior was outrageous you were so out of control you were stuttering.
U may remember me I went into ur establishment that same day to order a to go u weren’t open yet told me to come back at 11 and you apologized. I was light enough and female for you to be kind, professional and apologetic too. My son should have been afforded the same treatment. Because of this we will never return and really you should be taught an economic lesson it’s the only lesson ppl like you understand. Others will read this and may say u know what that’s not the business I want to give my money to.
Work on urself sir your soul is ugly. You’re dismissive and rude on top of everything else. You see how I have 4 stars on the food because your chef shouldn’t get a low rating because he works for a horrible human. The staff is not the problem the owner and his views and actions are. Good luck ppl of color at this establishment will r stand together and...
Read moreThe menu said you can replace any burger with a veggie burger, so I asked if I could have the veggie burger. She told me they didn’t have that, so i pointed to it on the menu where it said you can replace any burger with a veggie burger. She then pointed to the bottom of the menu that said “no substitutions please” and told me she can’t make any substitutions. I said “oh but it says right here to replace any burger with a veggie burger” and she told me that she has never heard of them having a veggie burger before and she couldn’t do any substitutions. I told her again that the menu says they have a veggie burger though, and she again said she hadn’t heard of it and that she could go check with a manager, but she knew they didn’t have it so it’d be a waste of time.
I said okay sorry and got a kid’s mac n cheese instead. I wish i had spoken up more and asked to speak to someone else, but the server was so condescending and was basically yelling that she can’t make a substitution to the point other tables were watching us. I later found out our server is apparently the owner’s or manager’s daughter or something (this happened in the summer of 2024).
Then 5mins later a guy came to our table and took a picture of us and made each of us give the place a 5 star review in order to keep the picture. That’s the only reason this place has decent reviews, because everyone wants their free picture.
Edit: I think the restaurant choosing to respond with a “fact check” (which doesn’t actually change anything in my review) shows they don’t really care. A normal and responsible business would just say sorry for your experience or something instead of being further insulting and rude.
Whether or not our server was the owner’s daughter or a manager’s daughter or whoever doesn’t actually matter and is missing the point. Also, i clearly said this happened in summer 2024, so the random “fact check” of not taking pictures this time of year doesn’t apply or...
Read moreI swear this is a Racism and discrimination restaurant worst one I have never seen before.
So horrible experience, I am Asian and have been VA beach over 7years and citizen . On July 28th 2025 about 3pm , My husband and I just walked in this one beside water and going to get a drink. The waitress on the reception of front door said nothing about my dressing when we in , but When we sat in a seat outdoor and started to check Menu, couple minutes later the owner let the waitress walked to our table and asked me cover a top if I have , actually I wear a bathing suit top and short jean, I thought oceanfront here a tons of girls and ladies dressed same that , because this is super hot Summer vacation season , then they refused to provide service for us and let us out . I have never heard any restaurant here for tourists have dress code restrictions. This is ridiculous and definitely racist , because there was another white lady who dresses similar top never had same issue by them . Make me feel like they thought I am call girl. After this , we went to another restaurant beside , of course they have no this issue about my dress and they couldn’t believe what happened on us before . Later the owner replied on my google review, said “shamed on you .” Or actually shamed on my race ?why you shamed on women wearing bathing suit but open a restaurant beside the beach where The beach street’s full of bathing suits —why’d a moral crusader like this restaurant’s owner open a spot on the coastline? Chasing money while faking virtue, judging clothes, treating people by race—never seen someone make discrimination look this “pure.”
Kindly remind if you want to go to this restaurant make sure you have some type of shirt cover your bathing suit in Beach or you have...
