Bella Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This place is located right across the street from the Best Western Plus sandcastle Resort on Atlantic. While visiting during the off-season there were lots of places closed and understaffed but this place was convenient and not crowded so we decided to stop in.

There were only three people working but the young man at the register greeted as quickly as we walked in and quickly came over to take our drink orders.

The menu is way overpriced, but we waiter explained it's because of the restaurants Beach location. There are several different menu options but I think they're specialty may be the pizza. There are no pork products in the restaurant but the chicken and beef pepperoni was still delicious.

Because they were short staff, we did not get our drink refills as quickly as we would hope and it took a while for our food to come up, however once we did get our food, it was delicious.

The bathrooms could have been cleaner and it would have been nice to get our first two choices and drinks, but they had already run out, ( which I didn't understand because this is the off-season and it's not like they had a crowd)...However, there are not too many cons about this place.

I ordered 3 items. Pizzbuffalo wings, poutine. Overall it was fine, just know this is not gourmet. It’s ok food served by non-Italians. Also, all food was take out. Pizza - honestly not very good. It was made fresh and served hot for take out, but nothing special. Compared to other in the area, actually pretty good and fine to order, just don’t have high expectations. Wings - the mild buffalo sauce was pretty good. Overall good wings. A bit small, and the were all flaps. That may appeal to some but I prefer and mix of drums and flats. Poutine - horrible. The fries were pretty decent. It had shredded mozzarella cheese, not typical but no complaint here. The gravy. I’d tell you how it was but they gave me the tiniest about that I couldn’t even taste it!! Being a to go order, they put it on the side. Seems like a great idea but there was enough gravy for about 2 fries. The purpose of poutine is gravy smothered fries. There was no gravy!! They served me cheese fries with a ketchup packet size of gravy. They should do every justice by taking the item off the menu. Major disappointment. Only go here if you’re desperate for food. UPDATED!! At the bottom. I am sitting in the restaurant RIGHT NOW. Our waitress has argued about everything that has been wrong. It took over 30 minutes for an omelette and breakfast pizza because our waitress failed to put our order in timely. She was too busy playing on her phone. When we told her about the issues with our food, she argued with us. The table behind us complained about her touching the part of their cup where their mouth goes and, instead of fixing her mistake, she told them she had just washed her hands. As if that’s supposed to make it ok. This place is ridiculous. When we told her we still didn’t have our refills or anything else we asked for, she snapped back saying she was new and she’s the only one. There are three other waitresses walking around. This is a joke. We tried to tell the host (it’s not clear who management is), but he didn’t do anything but laugh. I cannot believe we ended up wasting our time with flavorless food and a rude waitress. UPDATE!! Spoke with the owner. What a gentleman!!
