This hotel claims some sketchy affiliation with the Red Roof Inn brand, but don’t let that lull you into a false sense of comfort. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for a rocky stay.
Check-in/Check-out Experience: The front office operates on their own personal schedule—not yours. Signs warn that check-in is strictly between 3–5 PM, and if your travel plans don’t align with that small window, you’re out of luck unless you pre-coordinate with them (good luck reaching anyone). Also, be warned: they lock guests out of their rooms at 10 AM sharp. It’s not a gentle nudge to check out—it’s a full lockout, which feels more like eviction than hospitality.
Room Conditions: Let’s start with the positive: there were no bed bugs in our room, and the only critter we encountered was a single daddy long legs. But that’s where the good news ends. The linens were thin, cheap, and incredibly itchy—bed were slightly bigger than a twin, more suited for a camp cot than a hotel bed. Worse still, we discovered a small blood stain on one of the sheets. While we didn’t find evidence of an active infestation, it certainly didn’t inspire confidence.
Water Pressure & Amenities: The water pressure was laughable—like washing under a leaky faucet. After a long day of travel, you’d expect at least a decent shower, but this felt like a slow drip of regret.
Staff & Service: The cleaning staff made zero effort to acknowledge us. They wore earbuds and refused to make eye contact or offer a simple “hello” or “good morning.” It added an extra layer of discomfort, making the hotel feel cold and impersonal. The entire service culture here seems to revolve around doing the bare minimum while avoiding guest interaction at all costs.
Overall: This hotel feels like a place that operates on auto-pilot, with staff who clearly don’t want to be there and guests treated like an inconvenience. Between the inflexible check-in times, suspicious linens, and indifferent staff, it’s hard to recommend this place to anyone. Even if the price is low, you might be better off sleeping...
Read moreThis place is very clean, and the manager Rose is extremely helpful!
Housekeeping does a great job, the pool is clean (but unfortunately we didn't get to use it - when we had time to do so it was getting vacuumed).
The downside is that if you get a 2 room suite they are all on the 3rd floor and you have to drag your luggage up the stairs. I don't recall seeing that anywhere when I booked.
Unfortunately, we were traveling with someone who uses a cane and has trouble with walking long distances and doing stairs. This made it difficult for us. Rose was nice enough to get us a key to use the elevator in the new part of the hotel, but that means it's a much longer walk and that you still have to climb the stairs from the 2nd floor to the 3rd. That was hard for the person with us who has disabilities.
I myself, have a lot of chronic pain and damage in one of my knees, which makes climbing up and down a lot of stairs painful. Carrying luggage didn't help matters. Rose offered to change the room type, but I had specifically booked this hotel because of the room type due to traveling with my daughter and my mother (and wanting some type of privacy), so that was really frustrating for me to not find out about the lack of ADA accessibility until we checked in after 9pm and a really long drive...
The bathroom is EXTREMELY small (hard to even get dressed out of the shower in there). As others stated the wifi is absolutely awful...so bad that I would suggest you don't even bother trying to use it.
Overall, this hotel is very clean, quiet and in a great location with excellent service, but I won't stay there again.
Just be aware if you have trouble navigating steps, or you have someone with mobility issues in your group/family that you may want to call and ask about room type before you book....as they are NOT all...
Read moreWe have been coming to this motel for 25 years and love everything about it. From the location to the motel to the size of the rooms to the staff, this is our go-to location in Wildwood.
Let’s start with the wonderful staff. From Rose at the front desk that has seen our kids grow up and know us by name. She is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the motel and gets things done. To Wanda & Lily that keeps our room clean each and every day. They are always smiling and say hello anytime they see us. Louie was great with a minor maintenance issue that we noticed. All of the staff greet us whenever they see us.
The pool is always clean and well-maintained and the kiddie end is great for the little ones. They take pool safety very seriously and when the safety rope broke that separates the two depths of the pool, they made sure everyone was out while they very quickly fixed it and it was back to swimming fun.
We always had enough clean towels for the bathroom and if we need more, a quick walk to the front office or asking the housekeepers, and we had what we needed. Rooms are cleaned daily and bed linens are changed if they need to be.
This motel will always be our favorite vacation spot in Wildwood because of the people that work here. They care about the guests and treat people well. Being a block and a half from the Boardwalk makes the location unbeatable too, with good proximity to the convention center.
The parking lot is right next to the hotel as well. An elevator is available upon request as well. We like that the hotel has quiet hours between certain hours so that guests of all ages can get their rest.
With the new addition, there are plenty of room options for whatever your...
