Couple of things: WATER is WET. Prepare yourself! Also ELECTRONICS don't like WATER, because it's WET. Leave your precious electronics in your car. Finally - PREPARE to have fun! Being on the water at high speed is truly exhilarating! The Upper Dells tour on Jet Boat by Mark (one of the premier drivers for the upper Dells tour) is absolutely the best driver out there. The Upper Tour also features a couple of landmark pauses, and a Witches Canyon dis-embarking for 15 minutes, to follow an excellent path up into the Canyon. It's breath-taking, and you can literally feel the temperature fall by 15 degrees as you traverse into the canyon. It's a simply amazing sight, and the colors, textures and nature that lives and breathes all around you will likely leave a lasting impression. The tour is about 1hr 10 minutes, give or take, depending upon your driver, size of tour, etc. Remember that drivers depend upon tips as well, so bring a credit card (many do not accept Apple Pay nor have CashApp), or cash is always accepted. The boat is large and spacious, and has typically 10 rows, which can fit 5-7 people comfortably in each row. It's a 36 foot boat, with 3 large 529hp engines and a jet drive. That means it's FAST, and the sounds, wind and water mist will leave you impressed at how very fast you can move on the water. I'll leave more for the tour - that's what it's for! But trust me on this, you'll NOT be disappointed, but you...
Read morePlease do not give money to this establishment. As a local person, who has had family living on this river for more than 50 years, these boats are not only an ecological disaster, but an absolute nuisance to everyone on the river. The dells are made of sandstone, a porous rock. These jet boats create HUGE waves that crash on the sandstone causing erosion. They disturb everyone and everything on the river trying to have a peaceful moment. If we have our boat parked on a beach, the waves that are created start filling our boat with water. They scare away wild life. Tonight, I was enjoying watching deer drink by the river and an eagle in a tree. Then a jet boat comes blasting through and everything ran or flew away. This was at 7:15 at night! Go home! Last summer, a jet boat was so close to a kayaker that it caused it to capsize. My husband and I literally had to drive our boat out to rescue the person who did not have a life vest on! He lost his phone, but luckily not his life. They have no business on a narrow river like this, but money buys everything I suppose. If you want a thrill on water, go to Noah’s Ark. If you want to learn about the Dells and the river, take a...
Read moreUnfortunately the website was not informative enough about the extent of how wet you would get. Our group was not prepared, and the pre launch warnings from the Captain about getting wet did not prepare us for what was to come. We were prepared for a normal boating experience. As in please don’t wine if you get some spray on the way. We were not informed that our college graduate captain would be reversing in the wake of a crossing vessel to send a 3’ wave of water over the bow enveloping the first 3 rows of the boat. All our cell phones got wet as we had no idea the extent of which this “tour” would get us wet. It was only in the 70s that morning so the entire ride was wet and cold. My 8 year old son was freezing and crying but this did not seem to stop the captain from continuing the maneuver twice more. I will say to his credit that he stopped once I shot him a glare from the seat where my son was begging for him to stop because he was freezing. Would have been more fun if we were informed...
