Charming Hotel Hanoi — Hotel in Hà Nội

This place is a scam, be careful.

I arrived after booking through booking.com, when I arrived the owner told me that unfortunately there was a problem with my booking because my room was not bookable for at the time because of some work done on it or something (I know now from other review that this is a scam and she just overbook on purpose and tell you this story).

Because I'm somebody that don't like problem and I don't need much I accept her proposition to go to the hotel of her husband she said my room will be way better for the same price.

Unfortunately I discover that it was not the case the room was nothing like she said and like the photo she showed me. Again I just needed a place to stay not much so I didn't make problem.

But then I didn't sleep all night because the room felt like I was sleeping literally like if was on the middle of the very busy street the hotel is on. The one I booked initially was in a little alley away from the big traffic.

Then I saw that the door was not closing properly so I spend the night also not feeling really safe.

On top of that this time in Hanoi was cold and the shower was cold even she promised me a very good bathroom in this hotel ... I had initially booked 2 night there so the day after this horrible night I had a whole day booked outside of the city and couldn't manage this problem, so when I came back in the evening I ask her to move me back to the initial hotel I booked or to refund me my second night because of the situation which is very nice already of me because I didn't make problem for the night I already spend. But she wouldn't she said she can't she don't have room available but can't refund me either. Then I told her that I would then book an other place and ask booking what they can do about it. She didn't answer so I booked an other place and move, I then send her a picture of the key I left at the hotel and said that Ive left and suddeltshe said she has a room for me she just move out somebody for me and got angry at me because of me she had to move out somebody.

All lies, scam and unprofessional even though I stayed calm and very comprehensive...

Booked this hotel through agoda and made the mistake of not checking Google reviews before booking. This hotel is a total scam, we arrived around 10pm at night and after looking at the hotel we had to cancel on the spot. We had paid for 4 nights here and had to pay for one night to cancel, which did not matter as I would pay hundreds to not stay in this place.

The lobby was disgusting with stuff everywhere, there were a pair of dirty trousers on the floor in the reception and stuff everywhere. We were told we could choose from two rooms which were available, the first room was filthy with a hair ball in the toilet. The second room was even worse with dirty clothes stuffed in the wardrobe which was stinking out the whole room with BO, the bed looked as if it had been slept in and the bathroom was dirty with soap suds in the shower as if someone had just used it.

The photos of this place must have been taken 20 years ago because this place does not look like the pictures at all. This place is a health hazard, absolutely do not book this place under any circumstances!! We were left to wander round Hanoi at 10pm at night to find somewhere else to stay after a long travel day which was not ideal.

I wish I had taken more pictures of this place but I was too stunned...

We stayed here on the 14th and 15th of February and booked a Sapa Trekking trip through this property for the 16th,17th, 18th. The accommodation itself was fine however I would not recommend that you book a trip through them as we were incredibly disappointed. We booked a 3 day 2 night trekking tour however the owner had told us that the night bus was sold out so instead we should get a morning bus and she assured us we could join the group by lunchtime. We were advised to be ready by 5.30am, so we were ready and waited until 7am to be picked up. When we arrived In Sapa we were collected and brought to the hotel and were left there for the afternoon. When we questioned this and asked to go and join the group they said no we would join them that evening. We were eventually brought to join the group at around 6pm so missed the entire first day of trekking. The trekking itself was more than 50% on concrete paths with people constantly trying to sell you things. To make things worse 2 of the other people in our group had booked through Central backpackers hostel and paid $30 less per person.
