GM Premium Hotel Hanoi — Hotel in Hà Nội

This is my favorite hotel ever. Everything has been impecably perfect. From the moment we arrived, they opened the door for us and greeted us with such warmth! The receptionist politely invited us to sit down and go over the details of our reservation. They take cards but charge 3% of commission, which is a normal thing here. They brought us tea and a local pastry to unwind before taking us to our room (our luggage was taken care of from the moment we walked in). They carefully explained the facilities and informed us that whatever we might have needed, they would be more than pleased to help us.

I booked the Junior Suite. The room has a little balcony and natural light. Bed is comfortable. The AC was smooth and working properly. I found our room a tad small but that’s on me, next time, I’ll book a bigger room because I love the decoration and how cozy it is. They also have a safe. Wi-fi worked perfectly and fast during our stay.

Our breakfast was included, and even though Hanoi has amazing spots, if you miss Western breakfast, I recommend you grabbing something at the hotel. Breakfast is served on the 11th floor, hence, just the views are worth-staying for. The wide range of variety of food selection was incredible. Fresh fruit, great pastries, lots of drinks options… They also serve some traditional food such as pho for breakfast! The servers were very attentive and kind. Our last day having breakfast, it was a little girl’s birthday. They played a happy birthday song and brought her a little cupcake. That was honestly so sweet of them!

Service is flawless. The staff is amazingly kind, well-mannered and helpful. Everyone was cheerful and smiley, and you could feel that it came from their heart. Every single question you have, they provide an answer with an extra touch of kindness and a wide smile.

Check in and check out process was smooth. They asked for my feedback as I was informed the hotel was opened just 3 months ago, and any comment would help them improve their service. I had nothing but only positive feedback to provide. Working in hospitality myself, such professionalism and kindness are rare these days, even in 5-star hotels. They constantly anticipated our needs. The rates are ridiculously reasonable for what they offer and the excellent service you receive. It is so well-located, they have various facilities - spa, a gym and a restaurant/rooftop bar, the decor is gorgeous, yet, the most outstanding thing to me is certainly the staff.

I conclude this elaborated review by highly recommending you staying here, if you value your money. Every single dime is worth-spending in GM Premium Hotel. What you get in return is a memorable stay in such an amazing hotel and city.

I just returned from a wonderful 3-week April trip in Vietnam with my son. We travelled from Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam to Ha Long Bay in the North. During that time, we stayed in many excellent small hotels. GM Premium in Hanoi was one of my very favourites of the trip. This small boutique hotel, located in the centre of the Old Quarter, is an excellent hotel on all levels. It provides great value for money and I highly recommend it. First of all, it is a beautiful hotel, from the elegant and stunning lobby to the charming (and soundproof) immaculately clean hotel rooms with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was first class - with varied and delicious choices of both Asian and Western food. The small rooftop pool provided a perfect way to cool off after outdoor activities in the April heat, while the rooftop bar had excellent cocktails and a nice view of the city. But what made this hotel truly special to me was the incredible service. The staff at this hotel provided the best service from the many accommodations I stayed in throughout Vietnam. They were very professional, always friendly, helpful and kind. I am sorry that I did not make a note of their names to acknowledge them. But every single one the front-line staff were amazing. Thank you all so much for your fantastic service! I did make a note of one of the staff though – Vivian – who helped us in so many ways that she must be mentioned. She was our introduction to the hotel and Hanoi when we arrived. As well as checking us in, she suggested many city activities and offered some specific recommendations for speciality cafés and coffee shops (and her recommendations were always good ones). I usually book day tours online but instead booked a tour to Ninh Binh through her and the hotel and were very glad we did. Although many tours visit this area, they are not all of equal quality. Vivian arranged a wonderful tour for us that was perfect for our needs and reasonably priced. Transportation to Ninh Binh was very comfortable, our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the lunch we had was delicious. And on one of our last days in Hanoi before returning home Vivian even booked a table for us in a small café on Train Street so that we could easily and safely watch the train go by. We arrived at the hotel from Sapa at 6am sleepy and slightly disappointed as we cancelled our Ha Long Bay trip due to the typhoon. We didn't really make plans for Hanoi. However the service staff at GM Premium Hotel lifted our spirits with their bright cheery greetings and made our day with an adventure at Ninh Binh instead!

We were very fortunate to meet Mr Eugene at the front desk. He asked us about our plans in Hanoi and showed us a beautiful leather bound tour brochure from Vietnam Stunning Travels and made some recommendations. Then he made the Ninh Binh tour booking very quickly and even arranged for us to have breakfast at the hotel as we only had half an hour before the tour at 7am.

Also, how not to love a hotel that not only has great staff but also plays Studio Ghibli soundtrack as ambience music in the background with a magnificent roof top restaurant and sky pool?

The hotel also has a great map of the area and staff recommended good food and cafes around the area. We tried the Michelin star pho nearby and explored the streets in Old Quarters.

There is a t shirt printing shop just down the street where you can get a good quality cotton shirt printed with a design you choose for only 150k vnd! Grab taxi and grab food delivery is easy as well. There are also massage shops just across the street. The hotel is also walking distance to the railway cafes.

The entire hotel was very clean and meticulously maintained. Throughout our stay at the hotel we were well taken care of by the team.

Communications was good and the staff rallying together taking prompt action and checking in with guests to ensure safety and well-being during the typhoon.

This morning the team also ensured we have transport to the hotel at least three hours before our flight, helped send out post cards and even checked in with us if we have arrived safely at the airport!
