I stayed here with one of my friend for 4 nights. Our room was big enough for two people, it even possible to make it into two room without making it so small like a dormitory. The price was good too and the location as well. However, there are several issues occurred while we were staying. When we arrived, I don't think that they were aware. It took a while for them to understand that we had a reservation. This was an expected situation so it was not a big deal. We even got the key earlier. The hospitality was great too. That was all. It was the first time we saw them and the last time too. We never met them anymore. We got water only on the first day while trusting their lip service for complimentary water every day. The restroom smelled so bad every day but we couldn't make any complaint as it felt like we were the owner. The description also didn't match the fact. Well, what did we expect. It said that we will have a beautiful scenery of the Old Quarter from our balcony. Instead, we had a wall! There were a leak too on the window🤦. Anyway, for the price and the bedroom minus the restroom,...
Read moreI was heavily disapointed by this place. Most importantly the staff. First the lady wanted me to pay for an early check in because I arrived early. I could wait for the check in time so I refused and then so told me that the room was (already?) ready. Why asking me to pay for an early check in if you don't need to do anything special with a room already ready? Classic scam I know i look like a tourist but I live in Vietnam and see this way too often. Second I spent a day without seeing any staff member in the homestay. I wanted to ask for advices and do a laundry but I was all alone in the homestay. I rang the bell then called them, checked at 9 AM, 12AM, 3AM, 8AM. No one. The room in itself is ok even though the lock in the bathroom sometime blocks itself, and the window doesn't perfectly closes, whitch make you hear all the noise from outside and make it harder to keep the room cold (the fresh air from A/C goes out). My picture is the...
Read moreWe stayed on the 5th floor of this Homestay. The family that runs it are very happy wonderful people with adorable kids and a cute little puppy.
Be prepared for a little workout if you are staying on a high floor, as there is no elevator. It reminded us of an old mansion with a huge spiral staircase going all the way up.
The place is very clean, beautiful views of old French architecture from a balcony with big natural light windows.
It was cold and rainy when we were in Hanoi, but the owner provided our top floor room with a space heater which was very kind.
The bed was very comfortable, very large clean bathroom with clean hot water.
Across the street was some of the best Pho we had (My Pho) we ate there 5 times. Also about a 5 minute walk to the lake, lots of street vendors and little markets.
Will stay here again if ever in Hanoi...
