Lucky 3 Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

A pleasant surprise -- room 806 had fine window desk for computer, good climate control with heat as well as fan, a nice back view quieter than street side, fantastic breakfast with homemade jams (orange was yummy, plum was even better, intense & dark).

The boss said the pho broth was MSG-free, a blessing for Parkinson's patients & others. Fresh pineapple & watermelon served sliced but also as juices! Eggs, sausage, soy noodles & bread & butter as well as pho -- and if I overdosed on the great coffee, that's my fault.

Nice place, linked to 2 nearby Lucky hotels, tho I arrived somewhat surprised as I'd booked the Hanoi Sunshine Hotel. They at first said that I was at that establishment -- despite aged signage saying Sena Hotel. Then they said that "the name changed" ... and then that the Sunshine booking had been cancelled due to sudden lack of rooms!

So I was was herded onto a motorbike after more scammy lies by Hanoi Sena Hotel -- including that my Hanoi Sunshine booking on Trip.com was no good, like that hotel was closed (it does exist & thrives at a different address, listed on the map in Sena lobby, which also offered Sunshine business cards!)

Worst was the smarmy "travel agent" boss, who shrugged & said my only option was to trust wherever I would be delivered to by desk guy's scooter (I'm 66 with no sense of balance!) -- or my booking was cancelled & I could start over looking for the night's bed at 3pm...

Also had to trust luggage would follow unseen. When it was, it seemed to have been dragged on pavement, was damaged & dusty from scooter, with computer & CPAP medical equipment bounced around too.

Luckily I landed at Lucky 3 & got a good room (some were not so good, one with window facing brick wall next ot me). Had to fight for breakfast I paid for, and it was no "junior suite" like I'd paid for ... but I will return because Lucky 3 turned out to be a winner.

I will return for fresh food buffet, chemical-free pho & good value -- but do be warned about Sena/Sunshine bait & switch -- they'd be illegal in US. Yet this shuffling of helpless old ladies in favor of more lucrative bookings is common ... as their many reviews on Google clearly show!

Trip.com promised to look into Sena/Sunshine scam (it took 5 calls) but booking agencies are lied to as well -- like the customer accepted different room, suddenly full, etc. These huge agencies have no time for detective work to see which side is lying -- like the fake Air B&B rental in Hue that stranded me but was never shut down!

Buyer beware, so book Lucky 3 directly for a pleasant, quiet stay, clean heavy quilts (look in closet for extra) & fancy TV ... at least in 806, which had a lovely deep tub too! (Hot water ran out, but strategic pauses filling it & avoiding peak hours will be my next...

I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights and was deeply impressed by the exceptional service provided by the team. Despite the rainy weather throughout most of my stay, the staff consistently went above and beyond to assist me with every request. Their friendliness, kindness, and dedication made my experience truly memorable.

In particular, I would like to commend the manager, Sophie, for her outstanding support. She was always quick to respond, attentive to every detail, and went the extra mile by recommending a variety of delicious food, beverages, and desserts that enhanced my stay.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to the receptionists, Ms. Trinh and Ms. Phuong, who were both highly professional, helpful, and responsive. Their attentiveness and warm hospitality ensured that all of my needs were met promptly and with genuine care.

Overall, the entire team delivered service of the highest standard, and I am sincerely grateful for their efforts. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone seeking a welcoming and well-managed...

This charming hotel in a beautiful old building in the fascinating old quarter of Hà Nội was the perfect stay for our holiday, it is minutes away from all attractions, restaurants and fantastic shopping, night market etc. We had a large room on the 6th floor that had a fantastic large balcony which we used every night and was beautiful to sit out there on a hot evening and have a drink, it was spotlessly clean and room was cleaned daily, they serve a beautiful breakfast of Pho, eggs, fresh fruits, yogurt and juice, coffee etc. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and this helped to make our holiday a wonderful memorable experience, if I return to Hà Nội I will definitely stay here again, and I would highly recommend this hotel, great value, location and quality, do yourself a favour and stay here, you will...
