I’m a Canadian visiting Vietnam for a few weeks to see family and take care of some pre-wedding tasks. I stayed at this hotel for about two weeks and also booked four additional rooms for my cousins visiting from other provinces. Every single one of us had a great experience — even my cousins couldn’t stop talking about how reliable and well-run this place is.
Location: The location is amazing — right in the Old Quarter, with bars, restaurants, and the night market just a short walk away. Hoan Kiem Lake is also nearby, which made morning/night walks really enjoyable. Grab drivers can easily find the hotel, and during my stay (September/October 2025), even with a few typhoon-season downpours, the area never flooded — a huge plus!
Room: The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-kept. I appreciated that my room came with two key cards — I could leave one in to keep the airflow and A/C running while I was out, which made returning to a cool room after a long day feel amazing. Water pressure was strong and consistent, and overall, everything worked perfectly.
Service: The staff here are truly top notch. They go above and beyond for every guest — whether it’s helping with booking inquiries, handling luggage or packages, or taking on personal requests, they do it all with genuine kindness and professionalism. You can even message the hotel on WhatsApp for quick, clear communication, which made things super convenient.
Special shoutout to Jack! Jack is an absolute legend. His English is incredible — honestly, you’d think he was a native speaker. He helped me countless times throughout my stay and made things so much easier. If you’re reading this review and happen to see Jack at the hotel, please give him a fist bump from me — he’s a real one. La Selva Premium Hotel, I hope you know how big of an asset he is to your roster!
All in all, this hotel made my stay in Hanoi smooth, comfortable, and worry-free. Reliable service, prime location, and wonderful people — what more can you ask for? I’ll definitely be coming back.
Jack - you and I are going out for frog-legs when I return!

Read moreI would rate below 4 stars because of Mr Nathan's behavior but the service I got from other staffs made me to give 5 stars.
We stayed here for 3 nights. We were given top floor rooms and view was good. Bedroom was spacious and beds were comfortable and clean. Washroom was perfectly cleaned and big.
We were given to fresh fruits everyday with delicious cookies!! I missed those biscuits.
Breakfast was very good and delicious. They tried to serve enough items that would make a good breakfast. From English breakfast items to live egg station, everything was there.
At first night, our air conditioner wasn't working and hot warm air was coming out constantly. We called the reservation and Mr Nathan came and tried to convince us that only hot air or regular air would come out. We couldn't sleep well that night. Later on, next day we informed regarding our air conditioning problem and the engineer solved the problem right away from central unit. Rather telling us the truth, Nathan tried to avoid their mistakes.
All other staffs in reservation, front desk, restaurant, engineers and even bellman were very helpful and friendly. Hats off...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I spent a number of days at this hotel—and we will definitely stay again! It is located centrally in Hanoi where you'll be able to walk to many restaurants, bars, shops, and sights. If you do need to catch a ride, the front desk can help or simply call a Grab. The hotel and lobby is very beautiful and modern. However, as with much of Hanoi, the rooms are smaller than what you might expect. That is why we decided to upgrade to a room with a balcony (and so glad we did). The space is clean, comfortable, well-decorated, and provides all the amenities you might need during your stay. I'm Vietnamese-American and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the staff at this hotel. The level of service they provide is above and beyond! They are friendly, attentive, accommodating, and the nicest people—the service alone is worth staying here for. The only downside? My boyfriend didn't like the breakfast buffet as much as other hotels lol. But truly, we couldn't have been happier with our stay here! We had such an incredible experience and highly recommend to anyone...
