I recently stayed at Hanoi Media Hotel, and while the location was great and the rooms were clean, the experience with the reception staff left much to be desired.
We had booked four rooms in advance but requested to cancel two of them due to unforeseen circumstances. We fully understand and respect the cancellation policy, but we were simply asking for a bit of consideration. Despite our request, the staff insisted we take all four rooms because the cancellation was made after 20 days. There was no attempt to accommodate or even meet us halfway, which was disappointing.
Additionally, since we checked in late, we asked if we could check out late as well. They only gave us a 2-hour extension, which felt like a bare minimum effort rather than genuine hospitality.
Another issue was the lack of helpfulness from the staff. We had trouble charging our phones and brought it to their attention, yet they insisted there was nothing wrong with their electrical system instead of actually assisting us. This lack of service highlights a bigger issue—the way the staff communicate with guests. There’s a big difference between “listening and understanding” versus “listening and dismissing”, and unfortunately, we experienced the latter.
After traveling a long way from Sapa, we expected a warm welcome, but instead, the reception was cold and unaccommodating. One of the receptionists, in particular, was extremely annoying—she wouldn’t stop talking, yet she wasn’t actually listening to us.
Because of this poor customer service, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or anyone looking for a pleasant stay in Hanoi. Unless they take disciplinary action and train their staff properly, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a more...
Read morewould like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service and hospitality during my recent stay at your hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome, attentive staff, and the overall comfort and cleanliness of the property. Rooms were amazing. Breakfast was top notch with many options & the rooftop bar was a icing on the cake! Barman was really nice & friendly, made the best cocktails ever & the view was the rooftop was mesmerizing, specially sunset time. 🌅 Spa was really good too. Value for money. I did a footcare therapy & probably the best i have done so far! The beautiful ladies at the reception went above & beyond to make sure the guests had the best time. Staff at this hotel truly deserve a huge thank you! 🙏
Location was brilliant, probably the best you could get in hanoi. Theres a 7/11 right around the corner & a nice convinient store just opposite the road. Lake is right down the street & many coffee shops & restaurants around the area!
Every detail, from the well-appointed room to the delicious dining and thoughtful amenities, contributed to a truly enjoyable experience. Your team went above and beyond to ensure that I felt welcomed and well taken care of, and I am truly grateful for that.
Thank you once again for your outstanding service. I look forward to returning and will certainly recommend your hotel to others.
Warm regards, Navin...

The receptionist were nice and helpful. But it was a bit strange cos I booked from the Agoda app, but they said that my booking came from another website. That might also be the reason why they gave us a Double Bed instead of the Twin Bed that I requested for in the Agoda app.
The bed was comfortable, the pillows were nice and fluffy, there was more than enough storage for 4 bags, and the hot-and-cold shower works well but sometimes fluctuates between hot and burning hot, or hot then freezing cold probably happens when too many people are showering, but anyway the water pressure was always great. The flush always works fine. The A/C also works great either as a heater or as a cooler.
Some stuff were a bit dusty and dirty like the bidet hose, the phone, the remote, the bedframe, the shower door rubber, and some of the tile grout. The walls were also a little thin so we could hear the other guests or the staff whenever they're loudly chatting in the hallway. And there was a construction happening from 8AM to 5AM when we were there, so that wasn't great.
I would have appreciated it if we were informed ahead of time regarding the construction so that we could have prepared for it (i.e., noise cancelling earbuds).
But overall, we liked this hotel, and we would consider staying here...
