I stayed here for the second time in 2 years. Hai Yen has a great location, nice rooms, great swimming pool and a lot of nice facilities such as laundry, scooter rentals, taxi to/ from Da Nang Airport available at the reception. From the instant we entered the hotel premises, we had a staff member coming and picking our bags and carrying it to the room. The room had all the facilities- AC, bathroom with hot shower, bottled water, toilet amenities. First time I came here I got a room with 2 double rooms on 1st floor which was amazing. Last time got a pool-view room, but smaller in size. They have tie-ups with a few businesses such as Amy Tailors for clothes right across, scooter shop adjacent to them, taxi pick-up and drop-off from Da Nang Airport. Getting it through them ensures I don’t have to worry on filling my own petrol the first time, or worry about the shop not being open at 7 am when my flight was and just leave it at the hotel. They also accept credit cards (at 2% processing fee) which was convenient. And they were more than willing to exchange cash for VND. I needed some personal documents printed, and they printed it for free for me. We changed the hours of taxi at the last moment, and the hotel staff was very cooperative in ensuring it happened. All this for just $ 20/night in a luxury setting is an amazing bargain.
The only slight complaint I had was that we had a cockroach in the bathroom. I was able to kill the roach without much issues, but it wasn’t great to have this small inconvenience. Of course if we called the staff, they would have helped us out but we didn’t need to. But in an otherwise extremely clean hotel, this was a...
Read moreIf you are looking for a budget hotel which is family friendly, has a great pool, is walking distance from the Old Town and you don't need 'luxury', then this is worth a look.|We stayed 6 nights, which was longer than we anticipated and have stayed in quite a few other options in Hoi An for comparison.|Mostly good wifi, hot showers, good air con, cheap mini bar, standard breakfast, can organise tours and transfers, helpful and friendly staff. Laundry and money exchange at OK rates and bicycles. Bed comfortable enough, quiet ( at least in our room out the back ) and daily room service. |The staff were very helpful when required and always on hand.||Not that I'm Jewish but it is also very close to a Kosher eatery and there can't be many of those in Hoi An ?||It's budget, so it's cheap ( 420K VND per room in July for us ) but not nasty. Temper your expectations accordingly. You usually you get what you pay for but if you are a little discerning you can get better - you probably do a lot better here if this is in your range - more than adequate but no swim-up bar.|Would come back again.❤️🇻🇳❤️Hoi An||PS. As for the 🐀 issue raised in recent posts - we didn't see one at the hotel in a week. I have however seen a lot of them in Paris, NY and London. Rats pose far fewer dangers in this world than humans do. If there are rats I'm sure they are friendly in a 'run away' kind of way. Some people probably need to get out more....or go to a hotel with swim-up bars ( not that I'm adverse to those ).............Good swimmers though, those rats. |FFS - Get a grip.||Wind in the Willows, Family Ratatouille, Rizzo, Templeton ........con chuột...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 nights in December. it was in a good location to the town core. It looks old but actually built in 1997. We were part of a tour group of 18. Check in went quick. The front end staff was always very friend. ||||We were on the second floor. there is no elevators. So you will have to pack your bags up the stairs. It was 3 stories tall. So if you have problems lifting your bags I would recommend asking for a room on the Botton floor.||||Our room was a fair size but very plain. We had king bed. It was comfortable. Bedding fit the bed and was actually kind bedding not like other hotels we had been at. Walls are paper thin but if you had the AC on you couldn't hear much. All rooms had a horrible smell to the point were you wanted to puke. Bathrooms were ok at least clean but nothing special. Corner rooms seem to have 2 doors. I did a bed bug check how I had read they had them in the last 6 months. Couldn’t find any signs of them. So I was a very happy girl. The rooms were very clean. ||||Very nice pool with a cold temp which is perfect for how hot it was but not nice if you wanted an evening swim. Wifi was horrible on the second floor so I can only imagine how bad it was on the 3rd floor. ||||There was a restaurant on site but was never busy.||You could rent bikes across the street which was very handy to get to the Rice...
