I feel that I need to start off the review by saying I can only share the experiences that happened to me and my partner during our stay here. I can only hope that this doesn't happen to you. ||||We originally booked this hotel SPECIFICALLY for its location for 3 nights. ||||Unfortunately the day we arrived my bf got really sick and came down with a massive fever, headache and cold sweats. He could not stay get/stay warm but he was sweating through his clothes. He ended up having to change a few times throughout the night. ||||The next morning he was feeling okay and we managed to go out durning the day for an hour or so to get some fresh air. ||||Before we left I politely asked the staff if they could change the sheets as they were wet and smelt a little because of all the sweat. We stayed here beginning of feb so it could get quite cold at night especially with the damp air that accompanies most south East Asian countries. So sleeping on wet damp sheets wasn't ideal. (We have lived, worked and traveled south east Asia for 3 years - Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Vietnam etc). Typically when we stay for three days somewhere we NEVER ask for the sheets or towels to be changed because there is no need. (I'll get back to this later). ||||There didn't seem to be an issue with this. We went out, we came back, room was made up. However the duvet was not there. This was no big deal seeing it was still day time and we had plenty of time to ask for a blanket before dark. ||||We stayed in most of the day as my bf was still quite sick. Around 8 pm I went downstairs and asked the staff for a blanket. First she told me that there was a blanket in the wardrobe in our room, so I checked but there was not one, so I went back downstairs and told her there wasn't one and could we please get one - especially because my bf was still quite sick and shivering all the time because of it. She then proceeded to asked me "do we really needed one" and were we really that cold...(considering the staff sleeps on the couch in reception under two sets of blankets during the day - yea I'd say it's quite cold at night). I explained again that my bf was sick and had a hard time staying warm and yes we were both quite cold at night. She said okay so I assumed she would bring us one to our room. ||||I waited for over an hour. And still no blanket. I went upstairs to where they do the laundry and noticed our old (sweaty) blanket there with our sheets. I knew it was ours because of the way they were folded. Because I had felt bad asking them to change the sheets and with how sweaty the sheets were, it was actually my bf and I who took them off the bed and folded them nicely and neat so that the family at the establishment wouldn't have to and could just chuck them in the washing machine. (Yea I'm that person who cleans up the room before hotel staff does). I don't like leaving a mess and I treat hotels/homestays with respect.||||So not knowing what was happening with our blanket, I assumed perhaps they didn't have another spare blanket for us and didn't want to give us the sweaty one back. I didn't mind tho because the sweaty one was better than not having one! So I grabbed it went back downstairs and went to bed. My bf was feeling even better the next day so we ended up staying out for most of the day and returning to find the room was made up (towels were changed and bed was made with the blanket we took the night before - which is not a problem at all). However we were missing two complimentary water bottles that came with the room every morning. No problem tho as water is not that expensive and we didn't give it another thought . (I'll get back to this). ||||Since we didn't get up to much since my bf was sick we decided to extend our stay so we could actually see more of hoi an. And since my bf was on the mend I thought it best (and easiest) to rebook online at the same place. I went on Agoda and rebooked, paid received the confirmation email. ||||Before we went for dinner that night we thought it best to tell the girl at the front desk so that we could keep the same room. At first we didn't think she understood us but then she explained they overbooked the hotel that night and they wanted to move us for one night to a different hotel (1.2km away). She asked us if this was okay. We said no it wasn't as we had paid for that specific hotel because of the location and so that we wouldn't have to move. she said okay she would try and move the other guests that hadn't arrived yet. We said okay thank you. ||||The next morning after we finished breakfast the woman that was on duty the night we didn't get our blanket, came up to us and explained that we would need to move hotels (that it was in this block). But we knew the hotel she wanted to move us to - and it was 1.2 km away. ||||She didn't seem to understand that when you book and pay for one specific hotel because you like the location and wanted to avoid the inconveniences of moving that it wasn't okay. She was essentially telling us we had no choice but to move but we didn't have to pay anything extra and they would move us back after. (Here I would like to point out that you could book this hotel online through booking.con for $10.00 usd cheaper a night- probably because of the location!). ||||So here we are after having booked and paid for our hotel room being kicked out because of a booking problem the the hotel has. This was not any fault of mine or my bf yet we were being made to feel that we were the ones being difficult. The way staff handled this was so unprofessional and the women kept insisting that her colleague from the night before explained we had to move. Which was NOT true, when we said we weren't moving as we had already booked and paid for the hotel she specifically said she would get the other customer to move.||||Upon check out we were met with sooo much hostility that I actually got quite emotional. ||||There were charges added to the bill that we didn't agree with. Please be aware that during breakfast you only get one choice of free drink. No tea option. I had ordered a coffee and a juice. No one had explained this to us. Then two water bottle charges. ||||The woman accused us of stealing bottled water when I went to get the blanket from upstairs! In front of other customers! Which probably explains why we didn't have water in our room the second day. Not only that, she started yelling that I had asked them to clean the room after my bf had vomited everywhere!!!! THIS NEVER happened!!!!!! No one puked! She was so over the top and sooooo rude I couldn't believe it. To accuse us of leaving puke or vomit in the room and asking them to clean it up to stealing water (which costs 50 cents! We would never do this!) After kicking us out of a hotel we booked and paid for!!!!!! ||||1 star because of the way the staff handled their problem and made it mine. And harassing us at check out. ||||Not to mention I had to go chasing agoda to cancel my booking to get my money back. They did nothing to help, all while having to try and find a new place to stay. ||||Over my wonderful three years in south east Asia I have never been met with this type of service. Thank you for putting a dent in my last month here. ||||Please do not book here. They should know they can't treat...
Read moreI booked the room the 8th of October 2018 , arrived at the hotel like we normally do . I booked through Hotel.com ,so I show my confirmation email to the lady who seems to be the owner and she tells me that THEY DO NOT HAVE A ROOM for us and they know nothing about this reservation ( while she was actually looking at my confirmation email AND my bank statement on my banking app to prove that I already booked and paid ).|Long story short , Hotel.com will investigate and most probably refund us as Homie didn't want to do anything for us.|The lady tried to help and kept telling us she was sorry because she is the new owner and she doesn't know about any reservations made earlier this year ( again I booked the 8th of October ).|So basically she bought the hotel and kept taking reservations without even wondering if some others reservations had been made before she became the owner .|Luckily we just found another place to stay , far away from the center of hoi an but at least we have a roof over our head ! Homie didn't fo anything for us.|Do not go there and do not book as the informations of the hotel on booking and hotel.com are the wrong ones and they probably won't even have the room you were...
Read moreAfter booking the room with the big balcony, we first got another room. Not terrible, but also not what we paid for, after telling the staff, we could switch to the actually booked room. The English of the staff is mixed, one girl speaks perfectly, but another girl, who was there most time, was harder to understand. Of course we are in Vietnam, so I cannot complain about that. She booked the tour for us to My Son, just a little weird that it only includes 1 transfer from the hotel to the pickup point, not the way back. She tried to help us with a transfer to the trainstation, a bicycle tour, airport transfer etc. She meant it good, but got a little annoying to explain every time we saw here, we didn't need anything. Overall it was nice, good prices, good rooms, but have mixed feelings since I felt we always had to defend ourselves.||Location close to the streetmarket is also a plus, quiet street, no tourists (which is kinda unusual for...
