I wanted to take a moment to do a shout out at Harrison Eco Tours and their eagle viewing boat tour.
Last Sunday, my partner and I experienced the 90 minute, eagle viewing tour and we were NOT disappointed. The tour was absolutely spectacular, complete with hundreds of active eagles (my understanding was its north America’s largest collection of eagles), salmon jumping everywhere you looked, and seals cruising about, looking for an easy meal. Add the beautiful Harrison river with the mountains as backdrop, and you couldn’t ask for a more relaxing, picturesque way to connect with the natural beauty that is BC. In a word: awesome!
Molly, our first point of contact, and who is based over at Harrison Hot Springs Hotel (LUV THAT PLACE!) made a great 1st impression. She made it simple and painless. We peppered her with questions, and she was very understanding and informative. Thanks soooo much Molly for your assistance…and patience!
Frank was our jet boat captain and again, question time! He was so knowledgeable about the area, the river, Harrison in general and the nature that surrounded us, and definitely helped make our experience even better with his easy nature and professionalism.
So glad we went and are looking forward to our return…we’ve anlready decided our next tour will take us to rainbow falls…heard so many great things!
And thank you again Molly and Frank for everything. See you soon…ish...
Read moreTried: once in Aug 2020, so review may not be conclusive 2-hour guided tour, morning
Pros: beautiful/scenic location good service simple sign-in procedure tour guide (Carla) was helpful, conscious about safety, and nice to talk to Starbucks and restrooms available near their office, inside the hotel
Considerations: 2-hour passes by quick, felt rushed at times advertised as an excellent chance to see wildlife. We saw one eagle, was hoping to see more wildlife no dedicated parking option. Expensive parking available at the hotel. We parked on the street a few blocks away for free, spots were available at ~8:30 am was concerned by the high number of people in the neighbouring water park area. Surprised that such large and close gatherings are allowed during current...
Read moreMy gf bought a groupon and 4 of us took part in a 2 hr kayak up the Harrison River a couple Saturdays ago. It's a beautiful area to paddle and it was nice to go with a guide since we had never kayaked there before and she showed us the safest places to paddle away from the other deeper side that the boats use. I was disappointed that we didn't get to go further, but my gf's shoulder was bugging her and we decided to just hang out in the bay. Also, it does take some time to paddle back, especially when you are headed straight into the wind and it gets choppy on the lake. Our guide was Karla and she was very personable. She also took some groups shots for us on her phone and then emailed them to me. Thanks Karla! We will back for the longer Kilby trip...
