7-2025 READ REVIEW FOR IMPORTANT INFO
Great location right across from the lagoon and lake. In the center of town.
Nicely remodeled upscale motel rooms Recommended as long as you understand what you’re getting. ‘Grand’ is a bit of a stretch.
I found some degree of misleading info on the website. The ’studio’ rooms are small regular motel rooms with a small storage space, small fridge, coffee maker, kettle (thank you!), and a microwave. There is a desk space and chair. No table to sit at (or space for one).
The 2nd floor balconies are small but do have 2 chairs and a little table. The first floor ‘patios’ are the same size table and chairs on the edge of the parking lot.
The 1 & 2 bedroom units do have kitchens. In ours one room was a generous size with a couch, coffee table, dining table with chairs, and a full kitchen. The bedroom was small but does include a dresser for storage. We had a patio space on the parking lot, a big window facing the parking lot, and a bedroom window facing some gravel parking on the street behind the motel.
None of the rooms except perhaps 301,302,303 have lake views. The 2nd story rooms have a very partial lake view if you are out on the balcony.
The hotel manager and reception staff is very nice and helpful.
There is no room cleaning service provided, although you can request fresh towels and coffee pods etc.
The cycling is nice in the area. The motel does not provide any areas where you can keep your bikes and prefer that they not be kept in your room. So if you are bringing bikes you might want to discuss this with management ahead of time or stay elsewhere.
I recommend the management be clearer about which rooms have kitchens and which ones do not. (The presence of a kettle, coffee maker, microwave and small fridge with no place to sit does not constitute a kitchenette). Also a little more realistic about the lake views. Some nice landscaping in pots to separate the ‘patios’ from the parking area would make them more appealing and perhaps people would use them. And PLEASE make space available for people to keep bikes safe when...
Read moreWe were given a very warm welcome by Arash (manager). He checked on us every time he saw us asking if we had what we needed. The property itself was conveniently located and you can walk everywhere with lots of choices of restaurants. The studio room was very spacious and had a small balcony with views of the lake. You couldn’t see the lake when sitting on the couch. The air conditioning was appreciated but it needs to be updated to a heat pump as it was very loud. When it wasn’t on, I could hear the entire conversation of our neighbours who were sitting on their balcony and their voices carried through the air conditioning unit, sounding like they were in the room with us. We could hear people in the hallways and in the other rooms with doors slamming closed frequently. Parking is an issue! There are only 12 spots. My husband came back from racing his motorbike and all the spots were taken except for the spot near room 102 which apparently is reserved for that room as we were asked to move. Holly called me and told me we couldn’t park there, so we had to park around the back of the building which was also full but she asked the guy selling ice cream to move his vehicle. My husband had to haul all of his gear (making 2 trips) up the flight of stairs into the room. No one parked in this spot the entire time we were there, plus no sign saying this was designated for room 102!! Overall, the parking is frustrating and the walls are thin but the room is spacious, updated...
Read moreWe stayed at the Harrison Grand Motel in the middle of March during a spell of lovely warm early spring weather on short notice and for a fair pre-season rate .
Despite of the fact that the building is not new, everything on the inside of our two-bedroom suite was new: walls, flooring, furniture, mattresses, bedding, windows, kitchen, bathroom... The place was spotlessly clean, there were enough towels, definitely enough tvs, there was air conditioning that also was the heating. We had a little balcony with a table and two chairs with a view of the lagoon, the lake and the mountains. There is parking right at the building, and of course it is right on the Esplanade. Our son immediately wanted to come back in the summer to run across to the Lagoon for swimming. Unfortunately for him, the ice cream place right at the corner of the building was not open yet, as was the restaurant.
Arash was extremely kind, friendly, informative and helpful. He tries to be there for his guests as much as needed or wanted, and with a smile.
I hesitate to write this review. I want to keep the place a secret so we can come back and it is not totally booked as it otherwise will (hopefully, for Arash) be. A good alternative to other either more dated or more expensive places on the Esplanade. As a family we will...
