My recent stay at Harrison Beach Hotel left me with mixed feelings, but there were definitely some positive aspects worth highlighting. Let's delve into the details.
Starting with the negatives, I must admit that the accommodation price at the Harrison Beach Hotel was quite steep. It would have been more reasonable if it were more budget-friendly, considering the lack of certain amenities. Additionally, the service was unfortunately lacking during my stay, which was a bit disappointing. The room service was also inconsistent, making it a bit inconvenient for guests.
On another note, I found that the absence of a properly set third bed, including pillows, sheets, and pillowcases, was quite surprising. This oversight certainly affected the overall comfort of the room, and it would have been great to see more attention to detail in that regard. Furthermore, the old school A/C unit was quite noisy, which could be bothersome for light sleepers seeking a peaceful night's rest.
However, the hotel does have a silver liningโthe location. Nestled in the heart of a breathtaking natural landscape, the Harrison Beach Hotel offers unparalleled views and easy access to the beach. The proximity to nature's beauty is truly a redeeming quality that cannot be overlooked. Whether you're looking to unwind on the sandy shores or explore the nearby hiking trails, the hotel's location is undeniably its strongest feature.
It is worth mentioning that the lack of breakfast options or an on-site restaurant at the hotel was unexpected, especially considering the price point of 399 CAD per night. This aspect left a bit to be desired, but fortunately, there are several charming dining establishments within walking distance, offering a variety of culinary delights to satisfy any palate.
In conclusion, while my stay at Harrison Beach Hotel had its shortcomings, particularly in terms of price, service, and amenities, the stunning location amidst natural beauty made for an unforgettable experience. For those seeking a picturesque retreat and are willing to compromise on some of the conveniences, this hotel could still be a...
ย ย ย Read moreWe stayed at the Harrison Beach Hotel July 16-18, 2023 in the lake view, double queen room 404. What we liked: location, location, location โ lakeside with a great view of the lake and people and walkable to everything; a great balcony with chairs and table shielded from wind and rain; spacious room was very clean; almost full kitchenette with sink, microwave, bar refrigerator, table & chairs, counter, cabinets, silverware, plates, knife set, and some other utensils and bowls, but no stove top; newly remodeled โ more like an upscale studio apartment than a hotel room; electric fireplace; hard floors (we hate hotel carpet); great streaming options and cable; excellent Wi-Fi Internet; good AC unit with continuous fan to muffle sounds; comfortable beds. What we didnโt like: Spartan furnishings โ beyond the kitchenette only a smallish table/desk, nightstand, and single luggage rack โ no drawers for clothes; few useful outlets; only one (bathroom) mirror; noisy โ one inch gap under door with hard floors doesnโt stop hallway sounds and walls seem thin because we heard a lot of banging sounds from neighboring rooms; one bed was broken with box springs exposed (but not through fabric) on primary access/sitting side; stair only access to lobby from parking lot (might be due to ongoing construction); we did not like the very rigorous pre-arrival check-in process (we spent more time than the standard check-in) โ we couldnโt complete it on our Android phone (App wouldnโt advance from step 2) or on our laptop (needed to supply a photo ID that we didnโt have on the computer). Turns out this pre-registration wasnโt necessary (no surprise), nor was it necessary to use the same credit card we used to book the reservation (not sure why this is stated as a necessity in the paperwork anyway). We would return again to enjoy this great location and fantastic view, despite the somewhat significant...
ย ย ย Read moreI was there with my family just before New Year's Day, and I thought this would be a nice getaway for the holidays. The hotel seemed clean, the location is great, we enjoyed the hot tub on our first day there. We were supposed to stay a few more nights. However, after the first night there, I found a bed bug crawling in my bed. I notified the management, they offered us another room, but I didn't want to take any chances with those bugs, so we left immediately. They refunded us for the remainder of our stay. If I saw any reviews about the bed bugs before we went there, we wouldn't even go there in the first place. Now I have to wait and see if I picked these things there or not.
Edit to add because I don't know how to respond to business's reply on Google:
This is my maiden name, and if you look under my first name, I'm sure you'll find me in your records. We had a reservation from Dec 29, 2023 to Jan 2, 2024, a double queen bed hotel room with a mountain view, room #305, reservation number 83249, 2 adults and one child.
I urge you to call an exterminator and do something about the bed bugs in your hotel. The best way to protect your business from bad reviews is, not to deny your responsibility and argue with your customers, but to do everything you can to protect the health and safety of your customers, especially when you have been informed about this (the receptionist was informed, as well as the manager who approved the refund to us).
This was supposed to be a nice gateway for me and my family and it turned into a nightmare, so I don't think that I will be coming to your hotel ever again, and will warn everyone else I know to stay far away from...
