Unfortunately, during our stay, the power went out and affected the surrounding businesses. There was nothing that could have been done.
For dinner, all 4 of us went out at the harrison lakeside cafe. Due to the power being out everywhere else, I was expecting the restaurant to be busy, which it was. I knew that we might have had to wait a little bit longer for food to come out.
My experience at that restaurant was absolutely appalling. Let me explain....
-At 6:30 pm, we (4 of us) arrived at the restaurant. -Our waitress greeted us, brought waters, drinks, and the bread in a professional, friendly, and acceptable amount of time. -1 table sat next to us 30 minutes after I arrived. -Another table sat on the other side of us 1 hour after I arrived. -At this time, 1 hour has gone by and our waitress had only come to our table 3 times in the first 10 minutes. -The table that arrived 30 minutes after I did received their food. -And then the table that arrived 1 hour after I did received their food. -1 hour and 30 minutes have gone by and our waitress STILL has not come to our table. -We had to seek someone ourselves to get more water! We asked the person at the front, who just so happened to be the manager. -No one had explained the wait, offered more water or bread, or even apologize for the wait. -1 hour 30 mins in, the waitress came to our table and finally addressed this disaster and apologized. -The waitress stated that the chefs were yelling at her when she inquired about our food... completely inappropriate and unprofessional. -The waitress offered a free round of drinks for the table. We had 2 glasses of wine, 1 old fashion (3/4 full), and 1 mojito (which tasted like they poured lime juice with ice. It was disgusting.) -2 hours into service, we finally get our food. -I ordered butter chicken which was cold. I am not over exaggerating, the food was not even luke warm. There were 3 pieces of chicken. My food was sitting there for 10 minutes or longer. -My fiancee ordered fish and chips. Her meal came in very hot. However, the fish was not cooked through. The batter was wet on the inside... Again, I feel as if I am using the same word to describe everything, but the fish was disgusting. -the other couple at the table ordered fish tacos and ribs. I did not have any of their meal, but they said it was not good. -Not one person at our table was able to finish their meal because it was either undercooked, stone cold, or completely unappetizing. -The waitress took our plates away and said that she would "take some off the bill". -We asked very politely for the manager to come over in order to talk and figure out what exactly happened. -Our waitress left and came back, and told us that the bill would be covered. -The manager was standing by the front desk looking at our table, and did not even have the courage or professionalism to talk to us. The manager avoided her job and took no responsibility for anything. -By the time we finished what ever food we could eat, and left the restaurant it was 2 hours and 30 minutes we could not get back.
That dinning experience was worst I have ever had. The staff was completely unprofessional. The manager didn't do her job and when she realized there was a massive problem, she did NO damage control.
That dinner and dining experience was unacceptable.
I emailed them about this a few days after I checked out, and they have not reached out or tried to...
Read moreI had breakfast here twice because it was included in my hotel package, but I would never come here again. The staff who work here were unprofessional and very unpleasant, on both visits, and the managing staff was not interested in receiving any feedback. They were frequently complaining among themselves in the open about customers they didn't like and their own personal issues, like how many shifts they had to work and how they couldn't wait to leave, while aggressively pushing for tips. Several of the staff seemed very miserable to be working there and gave a lot of attitude to the guests.
As soon as we were seated our server (a very unhappy middle aged woman named Keandre) pushed to complete the gratuity form, even though it's a self serve buffet and all she did was clear plates and we only just sat down. Throughout my entire meal she was very condescending and rude. She was also very insulting to another guest sitting behind me who spoke English with an accent, speaking extremely loud and in an exaggerated, condescending way, rather than just more slowly, which was upsetting to watch. I asked for and spoke with the manager at the end of the meal, but was brushed off as saying sometimes staff have a bad day, which is not acceptable.
This place is also extremely overpriced, $22 for an average buffet with abysmal customer service where the only item that tasted decent was the omelette bar, which had a huge line up. I would suggest avoiding this place...
Read moreDiscovered this restaurant 2 weeks ago, loved the dinner buffet salad bar and dessert bar. Went back last night for date night to find that they have completely changed their menu, and there are no longer buffet options with dinner. It is just a regular restaurant now. We had a giftcard so we stayed anyways.
The new steak on the menu was full of chewy fat compared to the amazing one I ordered 2 weeks ago. The butter chicken was okay but way too tomatoey. They took the dish we really wanted to order off the menu, chicken parmesan. There were tons of spiders near our table on the patio, someone needs to clean this place. The service at first was good because we were the only people in the restaurant - but once other people arrived it went downhill fast. Waited over 25 minutes for the server to come back to our table so we could get change for a cash tip, but she never came back, so we took our cash tip and left. The view is still gorgeous, which was the one redeeming factor about our visit. Wont be coming back unless I get another giftcard given to me for free because its far from...
