chapter — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. It started as soon as I arrived with the person at reception saying he wanted the table back in an hour, no hello, nice to see you or any other greeting, just "I want the table back in an hour".

They've crammed the tables together and it's embarrassingly difficult trying to squeeze past your neighbour's table to get to your seat. There's absolutely no privacy and the noise here is terrible so forget trying to organise a business meeting here.

The food my guest and myself ordered was awful and I couldn't finish the starter or the main course. To be fair, some of the other dishes coming out looked a lot nicer such as the steak and the all day breakfast, so maybe we just chose the wrong dishes. The portion sizes were actually big but I would have preferred a smaller size but better quality dish.

One thing that infuriated me was that we hadn't even got half way through our starters and the main course arrived and they were pushing our plates aside to make room. On top of that, the dishes don't arrive together so my main course was cold by the time my guest's arrived. Hopeless time management and they should really consider sending their senior staff on a refresher training course.

I definitely won't be coming back to the restaurant but their take away salad and sandwich section looked excellent with long queues so I might try that if I'm...

Almond croissant — nice looking pastry, crispy outside with almond cream filling inside. Not bad… but kind of a hk style almond croissant

Quiche — lovely and warm quiche ( they will heat it up for you if you dine in) quite filling and nice portion for a casual lunch, ingredient is nice and fresh. Yummy A huge selection for Salads bar, drink and pastries are served there.

Atmosphere: Comfy dinning experience here, open and clean, Contemporary design with excellent Victoria Harbour view. Free seating. Staffs are nice and friendly there.

Take away also...

Old school feel of Hong Kong most likely made from Maxim’s group. The food is ok, not mouth watering, handmade pasta is good. The manager on that day (17 Feb 2024) have a terrible attitude towards every customers and wrongly pay attention to what it should be as a professional F&B manager.

I feel sorry that he’s not having a good day and being rude from his attitude, his way to look and speak to everyone
