A hip Asian Restaurant that draws customers in because of their tapas style concept of Asian cuisine. Though they also serve full meals and dishes, the range and variety of what they have extends towards their tapas menu. Each dish starts at 5,50 euro with a selection of meat, fish, vegan, vegetarian and desserts to choose from. A good place for those who'd like to experience a range and variety of Asian dishes without over-eating or stressing too much about which particular dish to order. The restaurant caters to small and large groups, and if visiting in a large group during peak hours, it is probably better to make reservations. The food is pretty good, although not entirely authentic, depending on what you order. Prices are a little on the pricier side when comparing price to portion. Customer service is average, different staff react and speak very differently, some are nicer than others, but none would be considered rude or unacceptable service. Although their motivation seemed a bit lacking. When looking for the restaurant, don't be thrown off by their simple red logo. The look of their logo can be easily misinterpreted for a...
Read moreGone are the days of affordable asian-fusion tapas, and with them Transit as a former staple of Berlin’s asian food scene.
Understanding that with the current economic environment establishments are forced to raise prices I was still sorely disappointed when presented with a laughably small portion of bland wasabi mayo fried shrimp (Green Hornet). The Pad Thai was equally as disappointing, arriving without the expected presentation and size.
The new menu is certainly intriguing, having added Tacos and a more international flair, however with the price of this all, one should expect something a little more extravagant. After tasting my way through a handful of other dishes my opinion remains non-plussed.
Critique of the price and portion size aside, I was horrified by the greasy stairs to the basement and bathroom floor, which at best is a hazard and at worst a liability.
In my honest opinion, this location is outdated and in far behind their counterparts in Neukölln and...
Read moreExtremely delicious food - you get a small list and you mark which dishes you want to order. The waiting time is short, the food is great, the drinks, too! The place is located in the heart of the city so you are basically in the middle of everything. From the outside the place looks very cosy and tranquil - but oh, my - when you go inside you can barely hear your thoughts let alone the people you are with. You almost have to scream to each other, you hear dishes and objects clashing from the kitchen, loud music coming from somewhere but you cannot quiet guess if it's hip-hop or just some mumbo-jumbo elevator sounds. We were a group of 4 and a dog (I am sure that its ears were damaged in the time we spent there) and we couldn't stay for more than 1.5 hours because it was extremely hard to have a conversation. I would recommend leaving the music out - maybe people would be more willing to lower their voices. Otherwise, a really nice must...
