We arrived around 9:00pm after seeing the positive reviews but found a long que so we chose to return tomorrow earlier! The next day We arrived around 6:45pm upon entering they tell us we needed a reservation which we didn’t see mentioned anywhere The place was like 70% full and yet they refused us telling they can accept only after 9pm
Eventually we asked to talk to the manager so they let us in and even so given the right to choose where to sit ( what a difference now )
They bring the menu and there were no prices for the water and soda we had to ask for each item price which made us uncomfortable
Now coming for the food! We ordered : *whipped hommus *wagyu burger *pizza Margherita *seafood fettucine *pan seared gnocchi
First to come was the pizza It sure was hot and the dough is good but the parmesan was missing or they put such little quantity it became flavorless you can check from the photos i joined with the review
The hummus was average , topped with burt pumpkin seed( look at the pic) and they just give you one flat bread with it not enough to finish the quantity of hommus given! 5/10
The burger was not worth the price ( not sure if is true wagyu, we also asked to replace the pork bacon with beef bacon which they said they dont have )I tried wagyu many times but not in a burger We asked for mayo since we didnt like the ketchup it came with the fries they said its extra charge( like its 200k idr can’t you just give a blop of mayo!??!?!?) The burger bun was fluffy and good. 5/10
The gnocchi had just a trace of truffle smell to it and I had to put more salt and black pepper for the dish to become edible!! Total deception tbh 1/10
My wife had the seafood fettuccine ( look at the quantity of the seafood on the pictures.. ) and she said the seafood was rubbery and the olives + carpes quantity was so much its out-powered the other ingredients even thought it was not mentioned in the ingredients list!!! Also lacked salt a lot!! Total deception 1/10
We were planning to get dessert but eventually did not since we already were desperate
The workers were nice tbh and smiling The Decoration, tableware and the overall vibe is good, wc was clean
While it might be a good spot for anyone it was really not for me! And by the way the first day we couldn’t enter due to que we chose Sala bistro just in front of Nusa and we enjoyed the meals there I’ll post a review...
Read moreWhen you're abroad in a foreign country and spot an American or western restaurant, what you hope is that if you choose to eat their food, it wwill give you the same corporatized taste you'd have gotten if you were back home. Even though these restaraunts have a wider offering of food including rice, pasta and bread dishes you'd never see in America, you still hope that the basic food tastes like it does at home.
NUSA pretty much nails it!
Firstly, the atmosphere is fantastic. They have outdoor dining with soft sofa chairs for those that don't mind the hustle and bustle. But for people like me who want Air conditioning, they have indoor dining with even more comfortable seating and an elegant interior design reminding me of one of the more expensive Italian restaurants back in America.
I ordered a Calamari appetizer, Margherita Pizza, a Pizza sandwich with spinach and mortadella and Spaghetti carbonara. Three of us would share it. The Calamari was perfectly breaded, cooked and the tartar sauce might be the best I've ever had.
The margherita Pizza - something I never order was tasty and the tomato sauce was good, but it's not really my style.
I didn't like the mortadella pizza sandwich but my friends did.
The spaghetti carbonara tasted exactly as I expected, a very good portion which we split - they both enjoyed it.
RECOMMENDATIONS: I can't for the life of me get American style meat lover's pizza here. Sausage, Pepperoni, ham and bacon...Pizza Hut doesn't do it right and neither does dominoes. Even when they use the local meats, the sauce isn't right and the food tastes more local than it does American. They should have a meat lover's pizza option.
As far as the pizza sandwich, I think an actual calzone with tomato sauce, mozzerela and meats makes more sense.
I did have one issue with the food however that was annoying. The drinks were either too sweet or not sweet enough. My first choice: peach tea was sold out. I switched to Lychee. It didn't taste as consistant as buying lychee juice in the store. Dragonfruit and thhe other fruit option were the same. Blending these fruits with ice doesn't always work well.
The atmosphere is great, the service is fantastic and the food is good. It's very romantic for dates and accomodates tour...
Read moreI made a booking for 6:00 pm, arrived on time, was seated immediately, and left by 6:32 pm. I rarely bother writing negative reviews for places I’m not impressed with, but this one is absolutely necessary. This place is completely overrated, and it’s shocking that the reviews don’t reflect reality; they are flat-out misleading.
The interior was hot, dark, and unpleasant. I was seated on sofas that were not only uncomfortable and scratchy, but also dirty (and downright ugly). Upon request, and only after an unnecessary delay, I was moved to one of the many empty tables that were available the entire time.
The pineapple mezcalita was a disaster. Overpowered by what tasted like cheap alcohol, it burned going down and was anything but enjoyable. I didn’t bother finishing it.
Something told me I shouldn’t bother with appetisers, so I ordered a pizza straightaway. The smoked pineapple and prosciutto pizza was just as bad: three pathetic slices of cheese, five thin pieces of prosciutto, and a watery, sloppy tomato base that had none of the richness one would expect from “Marzano tomatoes” that they claim they use. It looked careless and tasted worse.
I couldn’t finish either the drink or the pizza. It was a complete waste of time, money, and calories.
Am I leaving this review based on only two things? Yes, because that’s all I needed to know I would never come back. Would I want to return and try other dishes? Absolutely not. Their menu is not unique, and there are other authentic speciality Italian and BBQ restaurants in the neighbourhood that do a far better job. This place is overrated to the extreme, and I will not return or recommend...
