An embarrassment for a restaurant. (TL;DR at the end) Service was fine and all dishes came at once and not seperated as it is at many restaurants in Ubud. The drinks came fast. The mixed juice wasn't fresh at all and filled with sugar, which made it after all just too sweet for a fruit juice. Same with the !lemon juice. Now to the food. We ordered two greek salad, the snapper fish fillet and mahi mahi fish fillet, a curry and nasi goreng. The only decent food were the greek salads and the nasi goreng. The curry was edible but very salty. The Fish was disgusting. It came to us just above roomtemperatur. The fish was bland and the consistency of the fish was overall very tough and a few bites we figured out the fish was not well done or medium at least. It was RAW! Well, I had to spit one bite (and my last bite) out after... it was the consistency of raw fish(after the first half of the first part) and I immediately finished. My mum also gave up and when they got our plates we told them the issue, they first seem to not really understand, but then offered us a new meal. We instead took 2 desserts because we didn't want to wait our other family members any longer. The casava crapes were not very convincing but fine. At least they put our fish off the bill, but it was still not very cheap. Very disappointing and never again! The 1 star is only accountable to the service. Btw when you go to the toilet you can actually get a view on the kitchen, might be interesting. TL:DR
Service fine 7/10 Juices too sweet and probably premade 0/10 Food undercooked, bland or overseasoned and raw 0/10 Prices too expensive for what...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked into Paon Seafood Restaurant, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, a tone that carried through the entire dining experience. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff attentive, and the service simply outstanding.
The food itself was equally impressive. From the appetizer to the dessert, every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I returned twice more; once for lunch and again for dinner and each visit was just as satisfying as the first. The menu offers great value, with prices that are very reasonable considering the high quality of the food and the beer is icy cold.
I did experience a small issue with one of the crumbed fish dishes, but the staff handled it with genuine care and professionalism. They were quick to apologise and invited me to choose another dish from the menu without hesitation; a true reflection of their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Adding to the atmosphere, there was live entertainment on both evenings I dined. The musicians struck the perfect balance of old and new, and even took requests, which created a really enjoyable and relaxed vibe.
Paon Seafood Restaurant is a gem in Ubud, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, welcoming service, and a memorable...
Read moreWe were looking for a place to have some Balineese sea food and were lured Into this restaurant predominantly due to the display and also the live music playing. We went for the offers that they had and we had the following:
Mie Goreng - Good Nasi Goreng - Good Satay - Realky good. And the best peanut sauce that I have had in Ubud. The sauce was tasty and of a perfect consistentcy. Very well made. Grilled Snapper - Good and the sambhal and other Condiments were great.
We were given a free desert coupon which we availed in taking a vanilla ice cream. Service was good and our server was very courteous. They also had two middle aged men who were singing and I felt they pushed it a bit for their tips. I always find this pestering very irritating but in tourist places it is a norm.
On the whole a nice place. They gave my son some paper to color and some broken crayons. I always like that since it keeps...
