Firstly, I am attaching the latest menu here - the menu uploaded by others seems outdated, prices and options have significantly changed. So firstly, I found the place very costly for the quality, options, and ambience available. Please note, that I am a vegetarian so my feedback is only based on veg options that I tried ! Starting with the good part first - 1. Bhindi(Ladyfinger/Okra) was good 2. Naan and Rotis were amazing, very soft, fresh and delicious 3. They provided complimentary papads :P 4. Service was quick 5. Staff is cordial and very friendly ! Now starting with the cons: 1. The ambience is a little sub-standard given their location and pricing 2. The front door is pathetic - don’t take a table in-front of the door ! It doesn’t close automatically. If people are passing by and they leave it open then it remains open (no automatic closing). Hence, you feel a sudden-heavy cold breeze. So avoid sitting in-front/anywhere near the door until they fix it ! 3. Now talking about the food - we ordered Kadhayi Paneer which wasn’t good. The Paneer was very hard, gravy was tomato purĂ©e and it wasn’t at all like Kadhayi Paneer ! 4. Prices are way too high ! Around 16.5 euros for the Bhindi and 18 Euros for the Kadhayi Paneer 5. Very less options available - as you will see the menu is like 20 pages =D But most of it is daily packages and day based meal options
 6. The chutneys provided were not good - please include a good spicy option 7. Last and most important, the mint chocolates provided with the bill, were sucked ! It’s a good place and I might visit again, but they can definitely do a lot better :)

★★★★★ If I could give 6 stars, I would — this place is a hidden treasure! Forget the 4.5 stars shown on Google — seriously, what’s going on here? Diwali Indian Restaurant deserves a solid 6 out of 5. This is hands down one of the best Indian meals I’ve had in Ireland — and I don’t say that lightly. Yes, the dĂ©cor is traditionally 80’s Indian — and thank God for that! Some folks might expect “modern minimalism,” but if you’re put off by decor, you need to get a grip on your senses. This place feels like India, and that’s exactly what makes it special. The food is phenomenal — rich, spicy, fragrant, and exactly what you’d hope for when craving a proper Asian feast. Every dish bursts with real, layered flavour. No shortcuts, no watered-down nonsense — just beautifully cooked, authentic Indian food. The staff are fantastic — warm, courteous, and genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy the experience. You’re not just eating; you’re being hosted — and that makes a difference. And yes, it’s spotlessly clean — from the floors to the bathrooms to the spotless cutlery. If you’ve scrolled past this place because of the rating, stop. Go. Order. Eat. And leave your own 5-star review — because Diwali deserves better than 4.5 stars. This is a real restaurant with real soul. And they give you a cheeky wee dram on the house ❀

"When the vegetarian dish you ordered actually contains chicken...and the restaurant management does not seem to care" summarizes the experience I had of Diwali this Saturday at dinner. I am a veggie and the choice of the restaurant was not random, as Indian restaurants are usually veggie conscious and / or friendly, and the place had solid reviews. I was looking forward to a nice time with my friend.

I ordered a Saag Aloo which is a veggie dish (potatoes on a creamy spinach base) as well as Naan and Pilau Rice, while my friend ordered a meat-based dish.

Both dishes and their sides arrived at the same time and we started eating. The thing is, the sauce of my dish had chicken that had been semi-blended into it, as if it had been cooked together with chicken, and the potatoes had been added at a later stage. I only realized this once I had eaten it, and I was very upset not only about having eaten meat while this goes against my vegetarian principles. A thought also crossed my mind: what sort of standards rule the kitchen, where veggie dishes end up containing random meat?

Once my friend confirmed this was indeed chicken (she tasted it), I walked to the manager who was working behind the till and told him about the issue with my order. He did not come to our table himself, instead he sent one of the waitresses (whom had not looked after us until that point), who confirmed this was indeed chicken, apologized and asked who had taken our order. We mentioned we did not remember but that we didn't think it really mattered... the waitress got another order for me at the kitchen.

The order arrived 10 minutes after, which is OK, however at that stage my friend had finished her dish, and both my pilau rice and my naan were cold. Not that it seemed to matter to anyone.

When we went to the till to settle the bill, the same waitress was there and she did seem really sorry, she told us this had never happened before. She behaved very professionally overall. This wasn't the case of the manager who seemed to neither believe me or care. He did not engage with us at all, while we had stayed very polite and civilized since the incident. In hindsight I wonder, had we made a fuss would this have made any difference? He gave us a 10% discount on the overall bill but his whole attitude made it look like he was doing us a favour, while we really did not enjoy what was supposed to be a nice catchup dinner between two friends (in summary: surprise meat in my veggie dish, cold food after waiting for the actual dish, and behaviours that come across as a lack of consideration for your customers and their dietary requirements).

It was not my first time in Diwali, but this surely...

A friend of ours was visiting Ireland and the three of us decided to try this restaurant on Friday and were fairly disappointed by the service. To summarize: We did not get a wine list Eventually after about 10 minutes when we did get a wine list we were served the wrong wine - we were given a Spanish Tempranillo instead of the Chilean Tempranillo we asked for. Also the waitress who served us the wine just stacked the 3 glasses in front of me and poured the wine rather than placing them in front of each of us like it should be done. Then when I pointed out the wrong wine was served a waiter came to our table to tell us it is the same thing. Eventually he did change the wine. The poppadoms we got were soggy. Nobody came to check if our main courses were fine or if we needed anything. We were not given a desert menu or even asked if we wanted any or the least any tea or coffee. When we asked for the bill the waiter asked us if we wanted a complimentary shot of Sambuca or Baileys which we kindly declined. The waitress who gave us the wrong wine kept giving us the dirty look through our dinner. The staff were chatting quite loudly a lot among themselves and it was very annoying as our table was just beside the bar/till. The waitress was the worst as she kept on singing and then repeating some french words - comment ca va- and trying to teach it to the rest. 9 Finally as there were only 3 tables left a waiter started to play with the lights by switching it on and off. The manager or supervisor had to ask him to stop doing that.

I believe the staff don't have any proper training. They think they are doing customers a favour but guess what that's how you get paid. I would suggest the owner or manager takes some initiatives and train the staff and if not ask the staff to go out and experience a few dinners themselves and may be learn a few things.

Please note my review is based solely on my experience on Friday 19.08.16. Also if you feel offended in any way you are wrong, I would suggest you take it as constructive criticism and improve. Also if you have any doubts about what I described go through your CCTV. I will be back just to give you a fair chance for a...
