I can’t say enough good things about this pub! I visited last year while in Dublin and it’s everything you could hope for in a traditional pub and more. The atmosphere was cozy and fun and the staff were very kind and helpful. I wanted to take a t-shirt home as a souvenir to remind me of my time in Ireland and they went out of their way, even at a busy time, to find the right size for me! Fast forward to this month when my t-shirt was accidentally ruined đŸ„Č on a whim I contacted the pub through email because of the good memories tied to the t-shirt. Not only did they respond promptly, but they were incredibly nice and willing to go out of their way to meet my inquiry about sending them the funds to ship a new shirt to me! It may seem like a small thing to some, but this really meant the world to me as Ireland had always been my top travel destination and I love having a tangible memory like the shirt. Mariana is who responded to my email and worked with me throughout the shipping process to make sure everything was just right- the shirts arrived in less than a week! She was SO sweet, professional, and trustworthy and definitely deserves a raise! ‱ If you made it this far in reading my novel of a review
just know The Stag’s Head is clearly a “must visit” when in Dublin! I can’t wait to go back 💚

What an amazing little pub on the “edge” of the Temple Bar district! We wandered in here after reading about this pub on some vacation blogs online, and we were not disappointed! It’s a beautiful pub, with carved wooden bar and ceilings, and plenty of ambiance provided by the warm textures, the relaxed environment, and the super friendly and informative staff. Our waiter took the time to explain the differences in his (and his colleagues) favorite Irish beers and whiskeys, and that helped us a lot to have an amazing experience. They have a huge selection of spirits and beers, and ample seating available. We really liked the prices! The prices for drinks were much lower (at least 25 to 30 percent) than pubs that we had visited that were less than two blocks away. Also, for those who prefer a quieter and more relaxed space, there is a small “snug bar” that is adjacent to the main bar. We will definitely keep returning to this pub (we saw many “locals” there
) and we will definitely recommend it to others!

My husband and I are from the U.S. but got married in Ireland in May of 2024. We hosted a welcome drinks reception in the Stag's Head Parlour Bar (upstairs) for about 50-60 guests on a Sunday afternoon. The space was absolutely perfect for us and the atmosphere was incredible. It was the perfect way to welcome our guests to Ireland. The service on the day of the event was top-notch, though it was a little difficult to get in touch with the management/event leads after we had paid our deposit to ensure we had food ordered and everything all set. Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience and if we were to ever host a similar event in Dublin again, it would once again be at the Stag's Head.

Came at a busy time, no problem. We put our drink and food order in and had no problem waiting. After 30 minutes we asked our waiter to check on our drinks as everyone else around us had been served. We waited another 15 minutes, no drinks. Our waiter wasn’t around, so we went to the bar to see if we could get some drinks. The bartender wouldn’t even talk to us and told us to sit down and wait for someone to take our order. We tried to explain we already ordered, but he would not let us talk. Everyone else who came in at the same time or after us had their drinks and food at this point. We decided to wait a bit longer because we didn’t want to have to start over at another pub. We hoped to at least get our food and we’re just going to give up on the drinks. An hour in and still nothing. A neighboring table took pity on us and gave us one of their beef stews so we could have something until our food came. 15 minutes later we tried again and they said we’ll check. Nothing came. A few other tables were having issues and started leaving. The beef stew was mediocre best and we decided to move on. If you want a great pub experience go to Darkey Kelly’s. Great service, drinks, music and the food was some of the best we’ve...
