I'm an American tourist, I love tea, and I am a vegan. I saw from other reviews that there is a vegan tea option if you make a reservation ahead of time. I made a reservation with about 48 hours notice and they had the vegan option ready. Everything about this event was exceptional. To start, the reservation process was very easy. They also called me to confirm all of my information and make sure they had all of my dietary restrictions correct. When I got there they had a table ready for me and my friend who were celebrating some career milestones. The aesthetic of this place is exactly what I am looking for when it comes to a tea event. It's a little dressed up and the whole room is gorgeous. The waitress was so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. She talked to us about the expectations and explained our meals and tea in detail. We also had conversations with her and enjoyed getting to know more about her. I have been to different high tea events in the US and in England, but none of them have been this good. The teas are poured into your cup so you can try as many flavors as you would like. They will not just leave a huge pot of one flavor for you to finish and not have room to try something else. The Vegan food was delicious and came with scones, tea cake, finger sized toasts with different spreads on them, and two desserts courses. They also would bring you more toasts if you wanted more. My friend Julia and I were so impressed with our entire experience. I have already told family and friends that when they come to Dublin they have to make...
Read moreIn general - beautiful place. Food was so so. Too flate tast, desserts did not look impressive for the price we paid. Service just horrible. Our teapots were placed on the windowsill, near neighbour table. Most of the time I was seating with empty cup and were waiting for a waiter to add new tea. (What was the issue to place teapots on our table? It was enough room for this. People at the neighbour table had 2 coffee pots at their table.) Extra sandviches were offered only once. Scones were also avarage, perhaps they were baked yesterday.
I had an afternoon tea experice in several places in London. One of them - Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. In Mandarine, they undestand how to treat customers (I did not have an issue to seat with an empty cup for 20 minutes, waitors always kindly offer us new sandviches, deserts, scones).
€ 62 per person for avarage food, poor service - a way too much. The manager of Lord Mayor's Lounge should better visit afternoon tea at Mandarin Oriental in London to see how looks like a good service.

Service : The service was impeccable from start to finish. They pick your coat, they give you the opportunity to state any dietary requirement, they make you aware of the time you’ll have to leave the table, they explain to you how the Afternoon Tea is organised. The waitresses are very attentive and discreet, you won’t be missing anything. They will offer to take a picture of your group if you want one.
Pros : unlimited sandwiched, teas and coffees. The service is also a big plus. The room is lovely. The music suits the ambiance and it isn’t loud. The staff will address a little attention (little amuse bouche) for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries…) . They offer lovely takeaway boxes if you don’t feel like eating everything.
Cons : honestly… none.
I recommend the following teas : Sweet Nana, and Strawberry & cream.
I will be back and I’m already looking...
