Scam alert! The owner is just out to fleece travelers with this dirty, loud, and just plain bad "hotel". ||||Room selected: corner room with lake view and wrap-around windows||Length of stay: 2 nights||Price per night: $300||Only pro: lake view||||Overall Cons:||- dilapidated building with dirty walls, crusty and stained elevator. This is not in itself a problem, but it is something to consider||- paint is chipping and walls are stained everywhere -- the reception area, the hallway, and the room itself. Old buildings don't have to be shabby nor does shabbiness impart character||- we got in "late" at 5:30 PM and the receptionist had already left. The person coordinating the self check-in with us was very hands-off. They just send basic info to get into the building and room....but||- they did not leave us the WiFi information||||Room Cons:||- LOUD. You are basically outside. There are bus stops nearby, a cafe below, construction, and people out and about at all hours. You will get ZERO sleep||- dirty everything. Caked on grime and dust, soap scum, and just generally gross||- the bathroom area smelled intensely of urine and there was a faint cat urine smell throughout the building||- while the room had shutters to block out the external lights (but not any noise), the in-room lights were few and dim. At the same time, they were right in your face by the bed with uncovered bulbs, so they blinded you||- the shower had a rod for a curtain, but no curtain and the water would definitely splash all over the floor||- the room was so dirty, I couldn't trust the tub to be clean enough for a bath||- again....LOUD||||We wasted no time in booking another hotel (for $200 less I might add) and eating the $600 cost because sleep is precious. This guy made out like the bandit he is and somehow this scam "hotel" has a 4.7 on Google and like an 8 on Booking.com? Please. ||||The owner or someone else also leaves nasty responses to anyone who leaves negative reviews. They don't seem very passionate about running a good business...
   Read moreAlberto is an absolute crook - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! ||1 star is too many!!! ||||I booked this as a birthday present 2 years ago for my husband and had to move the date due to Covid. ||Alberto sent a confirmation email confirming the new date.||We arrive it is 29 degrees , Iâve unpacked my case, my husband has a shower, I am about to jump in and the young girl on reception knocks on the door and says âwe have given you the wrong roomâ ||Being understanding that mistakes can be made we pack up and go back into the hallway reception to see a couple who were supposed to have our room. ||||After a while it becomes apparent that theyâve double booked, which again does happen.||||The American couple come back about an hour later to ask about their room and if it had been cleaned, she said yes (IT HADNâT, WE WERE OUTSIDE IT) ||||How this was handled was the worst customer service Iâve ever witnessed.||All we wanted was somewhere to enjoy our holiday and beautiful lake como.||||Our trip was during a Swiss national holiday, so all the neighbouring hotels were booked for the 4 days we were there. ||||Alberto was on his boat and was âtoo busyâ to talk to us and left it to the young school girl to fix, even though he was calling / voice noting her. (Very poor) ||||He said our room was a NON REFUNDABLE room so they couldnât do any more than give us a voucher for another stayâŚ. AS IF! ||We had arrived to fulfil our booking, so this is unacceptable. ||||When Alberto arrives at 8.15pm (we got there at 3pm) he doesnât arrive alone, he brings FIVE policemen with guns, who spoke little English. He made out like we were troublemakers. ||Never did we raise our voice we just wanted fairness like youâd expect in the UK. ||||HE IS A BULLY, THUG AND UNTRUSTWORTHY.||He got our money, and dropped us!!!!! ||||After being moved around available hotels in como, I can honestly say there are MUCH NICER places anyway.    Read moreAVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!!|This place is dirty, the owner is just there for the money and couldnât care less about their guests experiences. Firstly, the rooms are in a dirty, dingy, shared building/flat block which isnât mentioned. Our room was dirty and in a state of disrepair, paint peeling off the ceiling, mould in the bathroom, layers of dust everywhere. The silicon in the bathroom was filthy and mouldy - needs re-doing. The grout is yellow where it hasnât been cleaned properly. My partner had to jump out of the shower quickly mid-shower because the drain was blocked where it hadnât been cleaned in sometime so the water wasnât draining, the drain was full of dirt & hair! The sink in the bedroom also didnât drain properly so I suspect that was the same issue. The coffee machine was filthy and therefore un-useable, tea & coffee was âfreeâ but were only left with one teabag. The rooms arenât sound proofed so itâs noisy especially with the ongoing building worlds opposite which starts early hours. The pillows also had burn marks on them, the wifi password provided was wrong (seems to be a re-occurring thing!) overall we left very disappointed and quite frankly dirty. We certainly wouldnât return and would not recommend. When the issues were raised to Bello! via booking.com (as we did not see any member of staff again since check-in to raise the issues to) the owner (Alberto) came back with an insincere response, not even an apology or acknowledgement that one of his guests had been unhappy with their stay. As I have seen he just writes unprofessional responses back to anyone who leaves a negative review. I seriously would think twice about booking this place.
