We just arrived in Como. We are United Sates citizens. We are fully vaccinated and boosted with Pfizer. The man working in front refused us service because he claimed we did not have a green pass. We explained to him that Italy does not issue green passes for U.S. citizens but accepts the CDC card from the United States. We have used this card to obtain entrance into three different European countries and has also been accepted by every single restaurant and tourist attraction that we have been to since we arrived in Europe weeks ago. However, this man (slender with black/brown hair) vehemently denied us service essentially the moment we walked in even though the restaurant was filled with patrons. There appears to be tourists all over Como, but if you are not from Italy, it appears you are not allowed in this one restaurant. The result is we took our business elsewhere. The result should have been admitting us into the restaurant considering our vaccination status is most likely better than everyone in the restaurant. The result for the man behind the counter should be termination from his employment and an educational course on vaccination cards. Long story short, if you are a tourist, especially from the U.S., never go to...
Read moreI donât usually write reviews, but we just went to have lunch at this place and unfortunately it was the worst experience we have had so far in Italy. We ordered 2 pizzaâs and 2 pastaâs. After waiting for a very long time for our food to arrive, our pizzaâs arrived and we were told the pastaâs werenât able to be made. We accepted this and decided to share the pizzaâs between the four of us. When we got to the last slice of one of the pizzaâs, we saw that there was a very long hair embedded into the dough of te pizza. We told this to the waiter, who went and got her boss. Once he decided to come to our table, which took a long time and required us to call them to our table again, his reaction to us showing the hair was: âBut you still finished it?â. This was a very unprofessional response, obviously if we saw the hair earlier we would have stopped eating earlier. It wasnât about the money at all, but itâs disgusting to find a hair in your food (which was half grey half black, neither of is have grey hair). We didnât get an apology whatsoever and decided to pay for our meal so we could get out of there as soon as possible. Save yourself the trouble and donât go...
Read moređŹđ§ The bill was wrong, we wait 45 mins for a Latte Macchiato and strangely when we went to pay our credit card wasnât working on their device and even after 3 credit cards tried it was still our fault and not their device who had a problemđ. As we had no Euros they accepted us to pay with Swiss francs but they charged us 2⏠as change costs so we refused to pay cash and proposed to try again with the 3 other credit cards we had (so in total 6). Then magically a second credit card device was brought to us and this time it worked!!! I summary we recommend you to pass your way even if the terrace is very attractive and find another place to enjoy a good âCaffe Latteâ and a tasty âPasticceriaâ and have a nice customer experience!
