TLDR: The ONLY good vegan restaurant in the Como area. Skip all the rest and just come here. Trust me, we tried them all.
Service: The owner is passionate and kind. The staff are attentive, well-spoken, and quick. Some of the best service in Northern Italy.
Atmosphere: Good outdoor seating as well as a sizeable space indoors as well for Como. Clean and well put together. The bathrooms could use a spruce up as lots of traffic comes through here.
Food: As I said, best vegan food in town. The Goose and Vegami are gross in comparison. We ate here three times. Never once did we have a bad dish. The lasagna menu rotates daily so there is always something new to try. The ingredients are fresh and the chef clearly cares about every step of the food journey. The only reason why we are giving it 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with flavor explosions... I know Northern Italy is more reserved with its creamy flavors, and as I said, while NOTHING was bad, the dishes were not mind-blowing either. The lasagnas were all unique but sometimes they were too dry and needed more sauce. The Primi's are by far the best dishes while the Secondi's are okay. Each secondi felt deconstructed and we would have prefered a more complete dish for those. When we think back on our 3 weeks in Italy, we are very glad this place existed or we would have starved in Como, but none of our fave dishes came from here either. Since the chef/owner will likely read this, I would just recommend maybe trying a bit more spice and herb to really pack a punch and really impress all...
Read moreWOULD YOU EAT THAT???? VVVVVVV We were with a group that chose this restaurant not knowing it was a VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT! It has a very limited menu and we ordered "scallops" not knowing that they were faux scallops made out of some wonder paste and came out looking like caulk. (See the photo, does that look like scallops to you?) I was dubious when I ordered and asked if they were scallops and they assured me they were scallops. Rule number one: don't lie to your guests about what you are serving. They were inedible. NO ONE in our group was happy with their food. Everything looked and tasted awful except the summer salad which was light and refreshing. The service was glacial but the young staff was overwhelmed. The restaurant was stuffy and too warm on a beautiful evening. It was stupid to seat people inside. No fan, no accommodation. They never brought the bill to the table, then when we left they overcharged us for the water and wine that we ordered plus a fake cola that we never ordered. This was one of the worst dining experiences that we have had in a long time. Stay away from this place!. There are so many wonderful restaurants nearby that have real food and very reasonable prices in much better locations where you can enjoy the view of the Duomo or the waterfront, the people, the dolce vita! But you won't find any of that at this dreary little backwater hovel with...
