Service was terrible. This has been our worst experience in the month we’ve spent here in Italy. The Maître de was pushy at the beginning and eventually lured us into the restaurant. Our mistake. Originally asked for 2 bottles of water and only got one. Table was set for 6 when there was only five of us, which is okay but they didn’t give 3 of us cutlery. We asked once for cutlery to be brought to the table. They only brought napkins, when we told the waitress she laughed and we continued to wait for our cutlery to be given to us. Our caprese salad came out and sat for 10 minutes before cutlery was handed to the rest of my family. Keep in mind that we had to ask 3 times for cutlery. When the water was poured there was some sediment left over in both my mums and my brothers cup - disgusting.
Bread was served to other tables but once again we had to ask for bread to come. We had finished our appetisers. No bread. Yet olive oil and balsamic vinegar was sitting on the table begging to be paired with something. We finally got our bread mere minutes before our mains came out. Now in all honesty, the food was fine! It wasn’t “the best in town” as the maître de described it but it was fine. My carbornara was decent, my brothers gnocchi was overcooked, and so was my dad’s fillet. My mums risotto was good however so far the only thing I would recommend hetr is the pizza.
When paying, the waiter asked how everything was. We were honest with him and told him that the service tonight was terrible. Now this waiter wasn’t our main waiter (in all honesty I’m not sure who was considering we had 6 people serve us and none of them knew what was going on). He was apologetic and told us that they were down two staff. But when 6 staff are serving you I don’t see how being two staff down makes a massive difference. The “icing on the cake” came when maître de asked us how our night went. Again, in trying to stay honest we told him “the service was terrible tonight” his response “don’t come back.” Now, I thought this was the best restaurant in town??? He told us next time go somewhere else (don’t worry we would’ve if it wasn’t our last night in Como). He didn’t apologise, yet instead his ego got in the way and was somewhat aggressive with my father. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the leader of the waitstaff and it goes to show that if you have a “leader” who is incapable of running a service then the restaurant experience will be nothing but abysmal. I am let down and disappointed that our final night in Como was spent at the “best restaurant in town” which was anything but the most “subpar restaurant in town” or the “worst service in town.”
Whilst the food was horrendous, it certainly wasn’t great (we went to a beautiful salad bar the night before which more than satisfied a family of those who don’t eat salad) the service was appalling. We spent 229 euro (almost 400 AUD) Dont go there, unless you want to be forgotten and just another number to get there...
Read moreThe one star for the atmosphere is because of the owner of the location. We were eating in total 7 times in the location during a period of 3 days(breakfast, lunch and dinner). The food is ok, the waiters more than ok but the owner is TERRIBLE.I hope he reads this review and maybe he will try to become a better person towards his employees and towards the clients. The owner is always very stressed and stirred in getting people of the street to come and eat in his location, he is ALWAYS unhappy with his waiters, shouting at them even if the waiters are doing their job more than perfect and the last night we were having dinner in his location he brought us the bill even if we didn't ask for the bill and were still eating, just to push us to leave the table for other clients, even if the location had in that moment a lot of empty tables. This was very rude.Dear owner, please try to treat your employees with more respect, they are the ones keeping your business UP, not you.You are bringing it down because of your attitude towards...
Spesa totale in 4, euro 142.
