Blue Velvet — Local services in Florence

I had an awful experience where the bouncer attacked me unprovoked. He saw me (completely sober—I just go out to dance) taking a video of myself walking up to the club and asked me to delete it, which I did right away. Then, he told me to delete my entire photo album on my phone, which had no other media involving Blue Velvet nor that individual. When I said that I didn’t want to do that, he grabbed me and my phone. I repeatedly told him, “Please don’t attack me; let’s talk,” but he wouldn’t listen. He even tried to trip me while he was attempting to rip my phone from my hands. Thankfully, one of his coworkers stepped in and asked what was going on, so I told him (meanwhile the bouncer was still grabbing at my phone). I let his coworker go through my photo library, and he saw what I mentioned earlier (nothing illegal or incendiary, just me having a good time and traveling with my parents). After some talking, we all shook hands, and I left. I don’t mean to attack Blue Velvet as a business (in fact I’ve heard some good things about it, which is why I tried to go in the first place), but this level of aggression and lack of professional courtesy from a member of staff is unacceptable. the worst i’ve personally ever been treated at an establishment. i don't even expect kindness from service industry workers, but the contempt for customers here completely shocks me. also very bad, very commercial music, not "vintage" music or dance music as advertised :( and only patronized by kids... atmosphere was like a high school dance. must only exist to scam study abroad students who don't know any better

I’ve been to almost every club in Florence, and this one is my favorite by far, specifically on Thursdays. Great music, great environment with even better people.
