We booked Hotel Bernini Palace with hopes of having a premium (5 Star) experience in downtown Florence. I left the hotel extremely disappointed and questioning the whole “star rating system”. How could there be so much swing between so called 5 star hotel? I would have rated Hotel Bernini a single star if it were not for the excellent central location. All common areas reeked like cheap grandma perfume. Now I understand that most hotel in europe are typically scented but this was offensive. Our room was very small with a tiny window view overlooking the communal terrace (which did not have any services to speak of and closed at 7 PM- for reasons I do not understand). The shower was elevated without a water stopper so the whole bathroom essentially flooded each time we used it. The bed was uncomfortable with sheets equivalent to gas station toilet paper; perhaps the worst I’ve experienced at a “premium hotel”. The complimentary breakfast had a large selection of charcuterie, fruit, eggs and bacon; but as with the theme, everything was poorly executed. The hard boiled eggs -as an example- were severely overcooked and had a thick green (hydrogen sulphide) ring. The hotel does not have air conditioning and if they claim that they do it certainly does not work. In the absolute scorching Tuscan sun this hotel does not have a pool. We booked a three night stay and left after the first night. Life is too short, vacation time is too scarce and money is too valuable these days to waste at a place like Hotel Bernini Palace. Of course Bernini refused to refund us. A thief never returns your wallet. Thankfully Expedia mitigated our loss and we migrated to greener pastures. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side (much like splitting open one of their hard boiled eggs).

My husband and I have had the pleasure to stay in beautiful hotels in different countries and major cities over the years, many of which left us with unforgettable memories. Our experiences in Florence as guests of the Bernini Palace hotel though gave a new standard to five star hospitality that formed the cossetted foundation of our time in Florence, moving between celestial and earthly delights. From before we arrived in Italy we were being thought about and taken care of by the Bernini. My husband was contacted in advance of a potential taxi strike in the city, which could have started out our trip in disarray.||||Instead, they arranged for a black Mercedes van to meet us at the Florence airport and spirit us safely to the waiting arms of Palazzo Bernini, where we met the first of a constellation of men and women, without whom the most beautiful surroundings would have been but an empty shell. They are carefully chosen, beautifully trained, and experienced in the art and craft of hospitality. ||||Our room was an exquisite jewel box of classical and baroque details, where every comfort was thought of, and the simplest things were elevated with beauty. The bath was a floor to ceiling white marble box of cool modern-informed classicism, scented with the haunting scent of bitter orange and herbs emanating from the fine Culti Milano toiletries generously provided, and which continued lingering on in the atmosphere of the halls from large stile diffusers, creating a sensual continuity of space.||||In the morning, you alight down the beautiful old wrought iron staircase or a marble ornamented lift down to the large classically designed breakfast room, with its baroque painted ceiling and chairs upholstered in the coral pink of the lining of cockle shells, to be warmed by the graciousness of the serving staff and the opulence of the delicious sweet and savory offerings laid out for the guests to choose from. I would add that both their bar that serves light fare and their intimate restaurant are also excellent. ||||As if you are not already intoxicated with the many pleasures of the Bernini Palace, they ply you with the most delicious chocolates, left in your room every night, so that when you return home you will want to continue the ritual of ‘un piccolo dolcetto’ late at night or in the early morning. Some even gave us luxurious comfort on our plane flight back home. In all, the wonderful people of Palazzo Bernini will see to your comfort like you are something between a cherished bambini and a Medici. Their grace and generosity is a trademark. Mille Grazie to everyone there for all that you do. We plan to return to Florence in the near future, and of course, what we playfully call ‘our piazza’ and...

Our recent stay at Hotel Bernini Palace in Florence was nothing short of exceptional, and it deserves every bit of a five-star rating. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that this hotel is committed to providing an unforgettable experience for its guests.

The dedication and tireless efforts of the hotel staff, particularly Matteo, truly set Hotel Bernini Palace apart. Matteo's exceptional service went above and beyond our expectations, ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect. His attentiveness and genuine care for our needs were remarkable.

One instance that left a lasting impression was when Matteo worked tirelessly to arrange transportation for our day trip to Tuscany. Despite unexpected challenges, he went above and beyond, putting in extra hours to secure the proper transportation for us. Thanks to Matteo's dedication, our trip was seamless, and we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the region.

In addition to Matteo's outstanding service, the entire hotel staff demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence. From the moment we stepped into the elegant lobby, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. The hotel's round-the-clock availability ensured that our needs were always met promptly, no matter the hour.

The Hotel Bernini Palace itself is a true gem. Its historic charm and tasteful decor create an enchanting ambiance. The rooms were spacious, meticulously clean, and exuded an air of elegance. We were treated to stunning views of Florence, adding an extra touch of magic to our stay.

Furthermore, the hotel's location is ideal, as it allows easy access to the city's main attractions. The proximity to renowned landmarks, museums, and vibrant streets made our exploration of Florence a breeze.

To sum it up, Hotel Bernini Palace is a haven of luxury and exceptional hospitality. Matteo's remarkable efforts and genuine care for his guests make him an invaluable asset to the hotel. We can confidently say that our stay exceeded all expectations, and we eagerly look forward to returning to Hotel Bernini Palace in the future.

Thank you to the entire staff, especially Matteo, for creating a truly...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Bernini Palace in the heart of Florence for one night and enjoyed breakfast during my stay. The location of the hotel is unbeatable - just a few steps away from the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria and the high-end shopping street Via Tornabuoni. From the moment you step into the hotel, you can sense the history and elegance of the XV century palace, adorned with antique objects and impressive frescoes.

The common areas of the hotel are carefully decorated with refined spaces and elegant furnishings, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of the past. The rooms are just as sophisticated and cater to every need of the guests. The attention to detail in the design of the hotel is impressive, with a perfect blend of traditional Tuscan décor and modern design, aimed to please the international and cosmopolitan clientele.

The hotel also boasts a variety of dining options. I had the pleasure of dining at the La Chiostrina restaurant, where I tasted some of the most delicious traditional Tuscan dishes as well as some innovative culinary creations. The lounge bar was the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine and some appetizing snacks. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant and bar were stunning, offering a private salon-like feel with a mix of traditional Tuscan and modern design elements.

The breakfast at the Hotel Bernini Palace is served in the beautiful Sala Parlamento, with its magnificent frescoed ceilings, and is a true delight for food lovers. The breakfast spread features classic Italian and continental delicacies such as bread, croissants, fresh fruit, and cheese, among others. If you prefer, you can have breakfast served in your room.

Another great feature of the hotel is the free Wi-Fi available throughout the property, which is especially helpful for international travelers who rely on connectivity.

Overall, my experience at the Hotel Bernini Palace was exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence. The attention to detail in the design, the excellent dining options, and the unbeatable location make it a true gem in the heart of this...
