Visited this place after being pulled in off the street and glad we where because this place offers a full menu but two other potions, a 10 Euro and 20 euro option, which In an expensive Rome is very good. Although the 10 euro menu we took up was limited, as you expect, I had the Spaghetti Ragu and Wife had the Lasagne, mainly to compare with Italian versions with what we have in the UK and both where absolutely lovely. The set menu came with a basket of bread, water and a small shot of coffee at the end. In fact we where so impressed we returned the next evening also. I tried the lasagna and wife had the carbanara and again both superb. On the first night we had a sweet each and bottle of beer, again superb quality. On the down side and only upon checking the next evening with the prices, we did notice the first evening we had been over charged because for two bottles of beer we paid 21 Euro. We simply put this down to the fact we where sitting next to a table of German people who where ordering drink after drink and as we where talking to them about their drinks and ordered our beer on their recommendation we like to hope that perhaps one of their drinks was added to our bill by mistake because if this was a deliberate over charge then this lets down what a great experience we had on both nights. All I would say is just check you bills, which to be fair we always do but on the one occasion we where totally relaxed, which is what this place achieved, with great food and company, we didn't do so. We certainly hope this was just an error because it truly is a brilliant place to visit and deserves the...
Read moreLocation Is Ideal... the restaurant Is placed in a road right next to Fontana di Trevi. Despite this and unlike most of restaurants next to tourist attractions, la Panetteria Is NOT a tourist trap. At first, it might not seem as a "good-looking" place... It's rather small (if you look outsider), but the inside of it is actually a pretty solid environment. Just what you need to grab a good and fast meal. The food served (Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe and Lasagna) were typical Roman, tasteful, al dente dishes. Medium-sized portions (pasta in Italy Is served as a first), yet really satisfying. Prices were OK if you take into account that the restaurant is in one of the most central areas of Rome. I'd really like to mention the great manners of the staff. Not only were they very kind and helpful, but they also had a great sense of humour... They were constantly asking us if everything was okay (they saw us eating the food in slow tempo, so they thought something was not going well) but we assured them everything was fine and they kept joking, asking us if we were sure. It was definitely an experience that made us feel as if we were in home! Don't miss the chance to visit this place.

Read moreThought it’d be a great place but ended up disappointed and sick.
I went with my girlfriend and we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated which is more than normal except for the fact there were quite a few empty and clean tables, not really sure what happened there.
All was good until then but once we were seated the waiter took ages to take bring us a menu even after calling him more than once, I’d say it was over 30 minutes. Just to give you an idea there was enough time for me to get bored, get up, go look for other restaurants a few blocks away (all full), come back to my girlfriend who had been trying to get a waiter all that time and still wait for a while longer before they came to take our order.
By the time he brought our menus I had already googled it and we were ready to order as I wasn’t going to wait another 30+ minutes for them to finally take our order.
We each got the menu that included a plater of pasta, a bottle of water, coffee and bread.
Somehow the waiter only brought us 2 plates of pasta, 1 water, no bread and no coffee.
The food was alright or so I thought as I’m writing this review while glued to the toilet.
So yeah, total disaster, terrible service and experience as a whole, the only silver lining is it was a relatively cheap...
