Ika Tsumesyo — Local services in Kyoto

I had a very comfortable 3 nights in Ika Tsumesyo Guest House in May 2025. . The guest house is very close to the bus and train stations and to all the shops and cafes. I managed to enjoy visiting many of the sites without difficulty. It is quiet, clean, use of a Japanese cotton robe, slippers, free tea and coffee in the room with kettle. TV. Mr Hashi is a super host. I had a problem with my booking, but once I phoned him, he sorted it out for me very quickly. There is a microwave on another floor, but I ate out so didn't need the use of it. If I needed any information on the city, Mr. Hashi would willingly help me; my Japanese is zero, but thankfully his English is pretty good. Excellent value. It was lovely to have a personal welcome on arrival and a fond farewell upon departure. I would certainly stay there, if I return....

I nice independent hotel with an excellent location within walking distance to the station and in the middle of Kyoto. The room is decent sized. You share a toilet and the shower/bath and a fridge. There is also a shared microwave on the second floor.

The staff is very friendly and speak some English. You'll get all the instructions in English in a laminated paper as well.
