Takoyaki Ichiban Osaka Sinsekaiten — Local services in Osaka

Had the misfortune of visiting this place as it was one of the only takoyaki places open at night. Incredibly rude to tourists. Stood there with my friends waiting to be served and was not acknowledged at all. Even when I spoke to them in Japanese, they were still unfriendly. They took our orders and after 10 minutes of waiting, we still didn’t receive our food. Locals that were visibly in line after us received their food first.We approached to ask them where our food was and they said they “would make it now”. The food came but it was severely undercooked even by takoyaki standards. In comparison, they tested how cooked the takoyaki was by tapping their chopsticks on it for Japanese natives. If you like wasting your time trying to grab the staff’s attention and having below average takoyaki, then go ahead.

Ordered a pork and egg noodles which came out without any pork and eggs or actual noodles. When we asked staff, three of them came over and proceeded to tell us this is what we had ordered while showing them the order form.

Also, all of the dishes tasted like off octopus even though we ordered nothing that had seafood in it.

There is a 300 yen surcharge per person which seemingly only applies to foreign customers, as none of the locals who came in were given this surcharge.

This has been our only bad experience ordering food in 2 weeks visiting Japan.

Horribly quality food, bad service and just a terrible experience...

I stood in line here to get what I thought was going to be great takoyaki purely as I saw it had a queue the night before. As I neared the front I saw a sign saying all customers need to purchase one drink. Since I just wanted some take away takoyaki I left and got it from another shop.
